What are we waiting for? The question can be posed in either a wild, irresponsible way or a sane, measured way. In New York, our pause will continue until at least May 15, and New Yorkers are asking, in a measured, sane way: What exactly are we waiting for?

You’re quoting the Chinese government and CNN as authoritative sources. Fail.
That’s a factor, but not absolute. Some people will. If they are successful, and do not self-combust, others will follow.
Not all people live with their parents. And if your parents are under 50, their vulnerability is small.
Carve it in stone, it's an eternal truth.
Why, specifically?
We need to be in lockdown for another year or so until they can provide the masks they are making wearing mandatory to go out.
When they first put the tip in, they said it would be just a couple weeks to flatten the curve. LOL if you thought you could give politicians (especially democraps) unlimited rule by decree and they’d ever let go of it.
Sorry - I live in “fly-over” country. I don’t care what happens to NYC.
>>What exactly are we waiting for?
Democrats are waiting until there is a Democrat in the White House.
>>They have not just flattened the curve, it has dropped to almost 0.
Time to dig up bodies from January and reclassify the deaths.
I still have to use a long sleeve shirt for a mask here in the USA.
What are you talking about? I had 50 surgical masks arrive at my doorstep via Amazon last week. And literally everyone in the grocery stores is wearing them, none of them are of the long sleeve variety.
The deadline is always two weeks out from the current date.
This is Poland in August of 1939. :)
Yeah, except theres no America to be the arsenal of the world trying to beat the fascists back.
I see construction sites in full swing with crews far beyond 10 people. More like 100 at work. Have been since “the shutdown” began.
City put road crews to work too. Tore up roads and repaved 5 lanes of road in each direction.
Apparently these are “essential” services to protect human lives. Except they aren’t. One is the real estate class that runs city hall and the other is a makework project.
I’ll believe the city is genuinely interested in snuffing out the virus when all animals are required to sit in their pen for 14 days.
Isn’t it up to Fauci?
No one has used the 2nd A as an argument so far. (The Japanese were unnecessarily anxious about invading the US in WWII).
Id have to completely agree with you on that point
Wearing a mask outside is completely silly
And yes women are mostly the ones that are complying with this nonsense
You are supposed to stay in “lockdown” until you agree to ALWAYS vote DIM loser and to give DIM loser politicians most of your wealth. Until then, shut up and get in you closet, Citizen.
NYC was the best example. Could have gone completely nightmare. The Javits Center and the Comfort not even used. Ventilators to spare. The numbers heading down.
People caught on. They watched and they listened and they did what they were supposed to do to save their city. They endured the hatred of the whole rest of the country, including a big city in their own state, and the self-righteous scorn of the I’m-more-flag-loving-than-you crowd, but they soldiered on in the right spirit. Because they listened to their elected leaders and the experts who were chosen to help.
Now of course people will start to say “It couldn’t have been as bad as they said it would be.” But there is no way to know that. No controlled experiment was done. The people who will say that the mitigation experiment wasn’t necessary will have absolutely nothing to base their assertion on.
Logic 101 for everyone. And a few more science and math courses than they would ordinarily have selected.
