Yes, it might be.

But a helluva lot of people have a helluva lot of money invested in things, and they have been raised from birth not to care about even the possibility of side effects.

And on the other side, you have people who don't understand science at all, and fall for any quack, on specious arguments, that the sky is falling.

And, there's the issue that the body is far more complex than even the experts want to admit (remember when telomeres were dismissed as "junk DNA" with no purpose?)...

As well as the vested interests controlling the money for studies: look at the Gizmodo piece on Coronavirus, which quotes CHINESE studies showing hydroxychloroquine to be ineffective ...for late stage severe cases.

And the powers that be pushing very VERY hard on everything from universal vaccination to global warming.

I'd be less inclined to listen to the fearmongers, except for the identity of the people pressing so damn hard to FORCE 5G.

So I think some slow, careful, well-designed studies are in order.

Got a spare billion or so? ;-D

I will leave the top paragraphs of your post alone, and only respond to the last.

5G is nothing more than a sophisticated software upgrade to the global cellular network standard established by 3GPP, **and** the ability to employ much higher frequencies. 4G replaced 3G, and 5G is replacing 4G. First in the RAN, and secondly in the core network.5G EUs or endpoints to follow.

Now, are we killing ourselves by flooding the ecosystem with so much RF of all types? Dunno. I doubt that 5G software will harm us. And I doubt that a quarter watt 5G radio in your office building will harm you. BUT that’s just me. You are of course welcome to form your own opinions.

But the Roman’s did a good job of suicide with the lead in Pewter plates. And they thought it was OK.
