I simply don’t understand the TP thing . . . At my local market, the paper goods aisle remains bare, but the fresh produce and meat are nearly back to normal. And then there’s the occasional shopper — always female, of a certain age — swaddled in protective gear.
Can goods remain almost wiped out. Meat is returning to normal. Fresh produce and local baked good were never an issue, always available.
People are weird.
Yesterday I was standing on the blue “X” on the floor at the supermarket checkout with my shopping cart in front of me. The woman in front was paying for her purchase and went ape-shit demanding me to “Can you get back?”
I told her “No, I’m standing on the blue “X” where I’m supposed to stand. I’m not moving.” She demanded I move a second time. Told her “No” a second time.
As I was paying, she was complaining to the store manager.
I have suggested on Facebook that anyone who buys more than one case of toilet paper on a shopping trip should be required to carry a permission slip, signed by a proctologist. A person who needs that much TP has a pre-existing condition, unrelated to the Corona virus. Then maybe there will be some paper left for my household.
Sick? Broke? In the house all day playing video games?
1/2 the country was like that BEFORE WuHuFlu!
People are stupid. In my neighborhood while walking my dog yesterday I was crossing at a crosswalk. Some lady yelled at us, flipped us off, and told us to use a crosswalk!!! I don’t understand folks.
Define normal,
I believe society has been profoundly warped and damaged for a long time.
It may be that this thorn of the flesh will help bring society
to the root task of “Love Thy Neighbor As Thyself”
We are WELL on our way into a renaissance.
Read The memes.
People are actually thinking and coming up with solutions.
Our Founders envisioned a nation of intellectually free people that would innovate and produce wealth.
It worked so perfectly, the socialists got in to interfere in the 1930's
They were about 90% complete in taking over America ...
Then President Trump happened .... THEN we were all forced to sit at home with the greatest tools available;
The English language and the computer.
No one knows what we'll look like on the other side, but The President is correct .... we WILL be greater !
I think a lot of this TP shortage started with preppers who heard story after story about the collapse in Venezuela. There were reports that one of the first things which became unavailable was TP. I think that registered with a lot of people and it avalanched after that.
People like that need to stay at home. I don’t understand why there is still no TP, paper towels, hand sanitizer or lysol anywhere. Shelves have been empty for weeks.
Imagine a classroom.
Now, imagine social distancing in a classroom.
Imagine any workplace....
I know of a workplace that has a floor with small cubicles that go on and on and on. The cubicles are small, maybe 6’. ONE person has tested positive for this virus in the middle of that floor.
Too many “Karens” in this world. SMH.
Yeah, a surprising number of people have gone completely batty under the constant hysteria. My Safeway — an excellent store, incidentally, taking things in stride — has put down big red adhesive signs on the floor. Seems their earlier handwritten notices weren’t gaudy or frightening enough. I’m playing along, however, because there are a lot of older folks around here who may have some of those pesky “underlying conditions.”
“People are stupid. In my neighborhood while walking my dog yesterday I was crossing at a crosswalk. Some lady yelled at us, flipped us off, and told us to use a crosswalk!!! I dont understand folks”.
You should have gone over to her and coughed and sneezed and flipped her off with both hands and told her to shove it. She sounds like a typical Liberal Snowflake Zombie with no mind.
LOL
It wasn’t the preppers - we were already prepared. My pre covid-19 stockpile carried us through.
What is the opposite of a prepper? A just-in-timer? They were the ones who were panic buying.
I think I do. One cannot have too much TP to put to use cleaning up what the media and social media dump on our homes every hour of every day with their breathless -- if not enthusiastic -- reporting of each new Chinese Flu horror.
BEST picture of the week...
Thanks !!
