Seems like Obama was out to make health care more expensive
Truth is, Trump should have reversed this a month ago so we weren’t so far behind every other modern country in our testing. Could have drastically slowed its advance, with a hope for it to recede in the late spring and for us to have better preparation, treatments and possibly vaccines in the fall.
And he shouldn’t have announced it by trumpeting how it was a bad rule that Obama had instituted, since he’s had over three years to reverse it as is and he has talked about not politicizing the health crisis.
President Trump can only do so much...this was up to one of his cabinet members and their staff..
Someone kept info from them, or didn’t want to go against the FDA...seen by many as a “God”... (I spit in the FDA direction )
They will no doubt argue it is Trump trying to manipulate science. The media doesn’t seem to acknowledge that anything before Obama could be righteous.
Sound to me like he might have just found about this “rule” and reversed it. There are probably thousands of these obscure rules in throughout government departments.
As a department director myself, I am always finding old rules that prevent us from doing our jobs because someone back in the day though it was a good thing. Then you have to jump through hoops to get them cancelled.

There’s no probably about it. There are thousands of rules on the books. Obscure even arcane rules. Some probably from the 19th century.

If Obama was prosecuted for crimes committed as president as he should be for the Coup attempt. Everything law he signed could be put on hold.
Believe me, I’m 1000% behind him.
So the 64 Billion $ question is: Whose tests were they using before and what is the liability/accuracy of those tests?

Don't rule out a more sinister motive, which would be paving the way for a super virus to gain a foothold in the United States before it could be discovered, creating a major panic and crisis to be taken advantage of by those wanting to fundamentally change America.
The Trump administration has turned the Fed gov into a true partner instead of an adversary with private industry, unleashing their full potential to gear up in multiple ways to meet the coronavirus challenge:
1. The Fed gov can fund these private industry efforts with really big bucks up front, so they can devote their resources without fear of financial loss.
2. Remove obstacles such as counterproductive regulations.
3. Lend their medical and scientific expertise where ever needed.
4. Help co-ordinate cooperation from entities that are normally and naturally competitive.
5. And most of all, listen and ask “What can we do to help you get these things accomplished ASAP?”
Really, when you think about it, this is a lot like mobilizing the nation for all out war, only instead of soldiers and bombs and bullets and airplanes and tanks, we’re mobilizing with scientists, doctors, hospitals, laboratories, and rapid development of knowledge, therapeutics, vaccines, medical supplies, and medical capabilities ...
