I was asking the same, is it male or female so now it's clear it was born female and is still a female. The only way it changes to a male is when it gets a Y.

When my son was about five, he rather loudly said “Dad, that lady is REALLY FAT.” (She was, too - maybe 300 pounds).

I quietly explained to him that it isn’t polite to say those things out loud about people’s appearance.

About an hour later, we encountered the same obese woman and my son said to me “Look Dad, there’s the lady who is not so skinny.”

My wife and I just broke up laughing.

You know, the funny thing about this story is that when I enlisted in the USAF, my wife had a girlfriend that was an Air Force Brat who grew up in England, spent years in the Dependents School and married an American who had been a classmate in the Dependents School and was an Airman in tech school just like me. Also, remember that people with Asperger’s are on the autism spectrum, and may not be good at picking up on non-verbal cues from other people. So why wouldn’t he ask if he was getting confusing signals?
