People who come here and work should want to be Americans, not temporary contractors who do not intend to plant roots and help improve our nation.
I don’t know what to think sometimes.
We are building a new home here in the DFW, almost everyone I’ve seen in the neighborhood seems to be from India. And these are not cheap houses, my hunch is that since they tend to have their extended families with them they want the big houses.
Main reason for that is it is far more difficult to acquire permanent resident visa (also known as green card) than a H1-B visa which is a temporary visa and it does not give you automatic route to green card which is required precursor towards citizenship. The wait is too long for green cards.
Current immigrants are overwhelming majority sponsored by a relative US citizen, with no tests for skills, English proficiency or wealth brought along. PDJT wants to change that system to skill based immigrants.
