President Trump is a horrendous racist. And it’s time for Democrats to stop calling him one.
Counterintuitive? Yes. But substantial evidence shows that labeling Trump “racist” backfires against Democrats. It energizes his supporters without providing any additional motivation to Democrats, and it drives soft partisans — voters who could be up for grabs in 2020 — into Trump’s arms.
This doesn’t mean letting Trump off the hook for being the racist he obviously is; I’ve been using the term for four years because it objectively describes him. But this means talking about his racism in a different way:
Say that he tears America apart by race and threatens our democracy.
Say that he pits Americans against each other by color and religion to distract from his cruelty.
Say that he enables and encourages white supremacists.
Democrats have a moral obligation to call out Trump's racist campaign. But they can't cry "racist" and assume that's the end of the argument.

Dana Milbank is a pervert and child molester and maybe we should stop calling him that.
I read a book about how President George W. Bush handled 9/11. The book showed how Dana Milbank had already established a reputation for vicious attacks on Bush that even the other Bush-hating leftist journalists found his antics inappropriate. I would imagine he hates Trump even more than GWB (who turned out to be, at the end of the day, just another swamp denizen).
They are insane.
They couldn’t get anything on Trump, so now they think calling him racist will turn people against him.
Milbank is a leftist never-Trumper and everyone should call him one.
Actually, that’s how I became a Trump supporter in the first place. I found myself defending him against the lies I saw being perpetrated against him so many times that I talked myself into being a fan. I am now one of his most enthusiastic supporters.
To show you how disconnected I am to any of the slop that gets published in the Washington Post, I had been seeing these stupid headlines posted on FR with “Dana Milbank” listed as the author for at least ten years before I learned Dana is a male.
The Busch’s were sent here as representatives from the Rothschild organization.
Of course, The Stupid Party (GOP) fails to call them out on the allegation.
If I adopted the same standards of “journalism” as Dana Milbank, I would feel free to call him a “racist” or “bigot” even though I know less about this execrable character than he knows about Trump.
This from the state that gave us Romney.

This is crazy. “Calling Trump a racist backfires so let’s not call him one” is a complete waste of space in a newspaper and shows how desperate their need for a new slant. How about real journalistic questions like why he isn’t considered a racist by the majority of people. This is just filler between pay checks.
