I know Im in the presence of the community, Rep. Karen Bass (D-CA) said to a room of mainly Black women who gathered at Washington D.C.s Walter E. Lee Convention Center on Wednesday for the first day of the 2019 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference. Her opening remarks helped to kick-off a powerful 3-hour event in which thought leaders, political leaders, and engaged citizens alike, convened to unpack the findings of the newest study conducted by Black Womens Roundtable and ESSENCE Magazine.
Before digging into the research, Bass made it clear that going into 2020 Black women need to be focused on getting it right, (read: removing Donald Trump from his elected office). Based on the BWR x ESSENCE poll, 83 percent of Black women share Bass sentiments. Thats the percentage of them that said Trump gets an F for his job as the commander-in-chief.
You know that we know how to get it right, Bass declared. A few years ago some people couldnt get it right.
In 2016, an overwhelming 94 percent of Black women, according to exit polls, voted for Hillary Clinton to become the first woman POTUS. For Bass and the other panelists, which included ESSENCE Magazines News & Politics Director Yesha Callahan, and Melanie Campbell, convener of BWR, there is a very clear and obvious mission to make sure the person elected in November 2020 is one who will put the issues of Black women at the forefront of their agenda.
Bass, who serves as the current chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus said that having Trump in office poses an existential threat to our planet. She added that hes undoing legislation that we fought for for decades, and dismantling agencies.

agree- if 83% give him an F that means 17% of black women give him a passing grade- thats a good mark...
You know that we know how to get it right, Bass declared.
all i know is that my black co-worker and friend who has voted dem his whole life is voting TRUMP in Nov and he is/was absolutely clueless with what has been going on.
day by day he gets a new lesson....i tell him to pass it on.
What Trump needs to do here is ask to attend the convention and ask for some speaking time?
If they give it to him, he has a chance to make his pitch. It’ll fall on deaf ears - but no one can accuse him of ignoring any “group”.
If the CBC Foundation rejects his request, Trump can say “Folks, I tried to reach out to them and see what we could agree on but they turned me away”.
Alternately, if Trump shows up to speak and is boo’d and has people in the audience yelling at them, make sure it’s captured on camera to Trump can say “I’ve done my lower the lives of black citizens n this country thru my policies and see? This is what I get. No one who wants to hear the truth”.
I think this is good. 83% hate him, the 17% who dont hate him are likely persuadable. 17% of the black population defecting from democrats would be catastrophic.
...but they don’t have the jobs in social service they want, with the Government. They have to work for companies who have to make a profit, and don’t care about social justice.
OnMONEYpadmeohhhhmmmm. Yes.
[93% of black women dont vote, so who gives a flying fk?]
Doesn’t matter if they don’t vote, they are registered and they get voted for if they don’t show up.
Polls can be hard to interpret. Does this mean 83% give an ‘F’, and 17% don’t give an ‘F’?
Some people really resent that. But doesn't that fact say more about them than the president?
Seeing as how this group represents the largest concentration of parasites in our country, this is no surprise at all.
83% of those seen in videos throwing chairs around a McDonald’s over a super-sized bag of chicken nuggets are black whale-sized women.
No one cares what they think.
.
Not gonna happen. There is soemthing seriously wrong. Generationally wrong. When the wife and I were first married we were literally starving. As in NO INCOME for months. We did get food stamps ($40) for one month and I felt so guilty we never went back for more. I distinctly remember stretching a box of soda crackers out for three weeks because besides that we had air and free water. Years later when I was in Medical School I also remember a well dressed couple buying Filet Mignon and lobster with food stamps and walk out to their Cadillac to drive away. Yes, they were.
At least a fair share of them. See my post #50.
What’s a mainly Black woman? Someone with a little bit of European or American Indian ancestry but mostly of African descent?
The CBC is demon rat owned and manipulated. Therefore they lie.
I bet a kidney she doesnt know what existential means.
It’s disheartening because so many black women who claim to be devoted Christians continue to vote for abortion and homosexual marriage year after year. The Bible is clear: You cannot excuse sin.
Or able to spell it.
