New Hampshire GOP official says support for Trump is 'overwhelming' in state

An official for the New Hampshire Republican Party said Wednesday that support for President Trump in the Granite State is at an all-time high.

“Now, the excitement for Trump right now is overwhelming,” Kate Day, a local committee chair for the GOP, told Hill.TV, pointing to Trump’s campaign rally in Manchester last month.

Trump won the GOP primary in New Hampshire three years ago before narrowly losing the state to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in the general election.

But his overall approval rating in the state has declined compared with when he took office, according to a monthly Morning Consult poll of voters in New Hampshire. Trump's net approval was 1 percent in January 2017 but has since fallen to minus 17 percent.

Unfortunately word on the ground is that Texas is not firmly Republican for contested Congressional seats even if Trump takes it in the general.

I have family in NH.
They were all “not qualified to be President” in 2016.
They were both at the Trump rally in NH last month.

NH is in play!

I lived in NH when it was one of the most Conservative states in America. Live Free or Die was the motto and the people were proud. Now it’s a mess of Liberalism and addiction. Even the Old Man on the Mountain couldn’t stand to hang around. I’m glad I left while I still had wonderful memories of the place.

But, is support in NH enough to over come same day voters from neighboring states?

Trump lost NH in 2016 by less than 3000 votes. Funny how NH was not one of the states Jill Stein wanted investigated when she was trying to flip electoral votes away from Trump.

New Hampshire's electoral votes in 2000 kept Al Gore out of the White House.

I lived grew up in Connecticut when it was a wishy-washy Republican state. In those days (1970s), both Conmnecticut and New Hampshire had some of the best machinists in the world, and Trump would have been yuge, cutting deep into the old school Democrat vote, just as Nixon did in '72.

NH is also the state that gave us David Souter. And Senator Warren Rudman, who lobbied hard for GHWB to appoint him.

That’s when the democrats executed plan B...voter fraud.

Hillary thought Texas and Arizona were in play last time. Remind me how that worked out.

Sigh Hillary was also pre-Beto mania and 4 years can change things especially if the Dems are on their game and demographic differences with all the blue staters moving in.

Is Beto in the US Senate? Did I miss something?

In my view: Beto’s performance in TX was TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT.

Trump may pull off the general, but Texas is ‘purpling’ in certain places that once were totally off limits to Dems.

That’s because Ted Cruz didn’t endorse Trump at the GOP convention, losing Cruz some support. Watch and see how well Senator Cornyn does in his race.
