Ergo, everything he does and everything he says is directed toward the achievement of a political goal.
Does that help?
All politics is local.
Without knowing much about Michigan 3rd District I would suggest the Universities in Grand Rapid are producing a lot of leftest voters.
He is pandering to the left hoping to get their votes.
Palestinian American
Could that have anything to do with it?
He’s about to get primaried. His actions show he values his Chinese business interests over the American people. This is his Hail Mary attempt to overcome that.
He is a self centered conservative not a Patriotic Conservative.
His motto.. “What’s in it for MEEEEEE?”
He knows he cant survuve a republican primary... he looked at his numbers and decided hed have a better chance being re elected as a democrat.... thats all nothing principled about him.
Just like flake and corker before him... just another egotistical nevertrumper
Amash’s Tekton tools are made in China.
Tariffs negatively affect his business model.
The key is: you don’t hear the guy from Harbor Freight complaining. He may be as unhappy as Amash, but he’s keeping his mouth shut...for now.
His family business has most of their production facilities in China. He wants the tariffs on chinese stuff removed. His stance is based upon his family business suffering because most of their work is done in china. Either way he’s a scumbag.
He is a Free Traitor that sold out his business to China. He is a globalist hack.
When you’re consumed by hate, to you, hate seems principled. For evidence, simply review the 2019 Democrat presidential debates. None of these candidates seems to recognize his own hatred.
Arab lawyer with Chinese investments.
I don’t think we give enough consideration to personalities. John McCain let Obamacare stand to spite Trump. I suspect personality differences are at work in this case.
To be sure, the deficit is too high and it will, eventually, undermine our dollar and our economy. But, this is not particularly Trump’s fault. It is also, and perhaps primarily Congress’ fault. Two years ago, our party’s tenuous position in the Senate limited what we could do about the deficit. Now, it the Democrats in the House. Hopefully, we will keep the White House, take back the House and retain or improve on our margin in the Senate next year. In the meanwhile, we just have to work through the situation. Among the lies spread about Trump is that he has some kind of personality disorder. To the contrary, Trump has a good sense of what he can and cannot do, and works relentlessly on what he can do.
With regard to free trade, we have moved to a post-Post-WWII economy. Our former willingness to be the buyer of the surplus output of the world, to promote recovery in Europe and the spread of market-economies and democracy elsewhere, no longer makes sense. Trump’s move to fair trade is totally appropriate. I supported Cruz in the primaries four years ago. Cruz touted a border adjustment tax approach to fair trade. Rand Paul had a position similar to Cruz. Trump has a different approach to fair trade, one involving “deals.” During the campaign, Trump touted his credentials as a deal-maker in seeking to renegotiate trade agreements and in new trade agreements. So far, we only have one breakthrough, the renegotiation of NAFTA. Making global deals is very challenging.
With regard to immigration, Trump has a pretty good approach involving shifting immigration from family unification to merit. With family unification, many immigrants are elderly relatives who, when they come here, go directly onto SSI. With merit, we’d get people who pay into the social insurance system like the rest of us. Merit is not only good for the country, it is fair to the American taxpayer. An indirect effect of our family unification policy is frustration by people who probably would qualify on the basis of merit, which frustration results in illegal immigration. The Democrats oppose merit-based immigration because they want to use immigration to change the electorate of the country.
Everything he says about the Republican Party is true. The GOP is dominated by a bunch of useless hacks, and they only pretend to be principled conservatives when they're in a position to vote on things that will never get passed into law.
Amash, however, exposed himself as a complete fraud with his attacks on President Trump. You never heard a peep out of him about Obama, did you?
His principle is he wants to be reelected. He’s come to realize that he can not win the primary.
Because he sells cheap tools made in China, and his family is middle eastern. Simple as that.
President Trumps position on China affected anyone who bet on China over America. This scumbag is just one more among that number. Im guessing he was particularly exposed financially or legally at this point and he could no longer contain his demons.
In his own words: No matter your circumstance, Im asking you to join me in rejecting the partisan loyalties and rhetoric that divide and dehumanize us, Amash wrote in a Washington Post op-ed.
He doesn’t understand that the dehumanizing is coming from the death cult lefties. You cannot compromise with the death cult democrat party. ever. and he owns a chinese company.
