A new political calling has already been suggested for one New York Democrat who has only been on Capitol Hill for four months.
Mayor Ocasio-Cortez? asks a New York Sun editorial.
The news organization has weighed out the chances that Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez could one day be elected mayor of New York City, her home town. The publication suggests that the realities of Congress may lose their appeal for the lawmaker.
The fun Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is having could fade if as is theoretically possible the GOP regains the House in 2020. Then shed be faced with the interminable drudgery of being without seniority and in a minority. One can imagine that the prospect of a mayoral race would look attractive to the young firebrand with a, we dont mind saying, quick wit and taste for the limelight, the editorial said.

As to Mayor AOC, I can't believe NYers are that stupid.
“AOC for Mayor... because if the current Commie idiot isn’t succeeding, try, try again.”
Why not? If de Blasio can do it, why not AOC?
NY City is an ironic place. Its supports marxists, anti-Americans and SJWs of all kinds, gives them a bubble in which to imagine they are elites and to play with their ridiculous utopian schemes
Yet it is all supported by an extremely narrow base of money, squeezed from people and financial businesses, who use the city as the center of world trading in financial assets of the US $ and the word’s only superpower.
NYC will never be the same again if she were to run and win!
“As to Mayor AOC, I can’t believe NYers are that stupid.”
Awhile back I was at a political discussion site, and the subject of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came up. I was surprised - and a bit disturbed - to see how many people were saying things like “AOC would make a great president. It’s a shame that she’s too young to run in 2020.”
Yikes!
So I guess for those folks, the NYC mayor’s job would be a great stepping stone for her.
I can.
John Lindsay, Abe Beame, Ed Koch, David Dinkens, Rudy Giuliani,Michael Bloomberg, Bill DeBlasio
They are 1 for 8 since 1966.
Are you saying that Rudy wasn’t a good mayor?
Obviously one doesn’t need accomplishments to be the mayor of NYC.
5.56mm
Sounds like a double win for those of us not living in NYC.
We get rid of a socialist/commie/LGBT mayor and a socialist/commie/LGBT Congre$$it.
Ok, you’ve convinced me...New Yorkers ARE that stupid. lol
[[quick wit]]
Bahahahahaha- Yeah, ok-
She could be worse than De Blasio. Much Worse.
If they elect her, and they just may, they deserve her.
“AOC for the Big Apple? New York Sun kicks around mayoral run for freshman House Democrat”
I think this would be a great move on her part. She will get nothing done in congress. Too many loonies loonier than her.
Didnt she barely squeak by on her election?
In my post, I said they are 1 for 8 meaning only 1 of the last 8 mayors from 1966 has been worth a damn (read that: Rudy).
