Controversial documentary filmmaker Michael Moore on Wednesday said Democratic Sens. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker would lose against President Trump in the 2020 election, suggesting the party should nominate a “beloved American” like Michelle Obama instead.
Moore made the comments on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” following the results of the 2018 midterm elections, where Democrats regained control of the House of Representatives.
“I think [Trump] is a tumor on our democracy,” Moore said. “But the tumor shrank last night. He has ripped apart and has taken us to the precipice of whether or not we are going to have the country we thought we used to have or that we were going to have.”
“I come from one of those three states — Michigan — that put him over the top in the electoral college vote,” Moore continued. “Last night, those three states — Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin … all went blue.”
Moore, who predicted Trump’s victory in 2016, went on to ask who, in two years' time, could possibly challenge the president, whom he described as a “true danger” and an “evil genius.”
After show co-host Mika Brzezinski floated the name of Harris, Moore shot back that neither the California Democrat nor Booker of New Jersey could win against Trump.
“No," he said about Harris. "Love her. No, not going to happen. Cory — love him. No. We cannot run a politician against [Trump]. We will lose.”(continued)

Voting blue for senators and representatives is not the same as voting for the president. James was clearly the best candidate for Michigan, but his opponent had a very established name and connections. The blue team also received huge infusions of cash this time around.
In a presidential election, most available money goes to the potus effort. That will be exponential in 2020, and I doubt the cables will be giving Trump air time every day.
Let’s see what happens as Trump rebrands the Republican Party as the party of the middle class and working man.

Well, Kamala Harris meets the same “twofer” and doesn’t look like she could be a starting center linebacker for the Chicago Bears (and take showers with all the other players without anyone asking questions)!
To be honest, KAMALA is the one with whom I have the most most concern! She is a pretty good looking African-American woman - that alone will pump up the black male and the not-so-closeted-male-chauvinist-Democrat-pigs votes to RECORD proportions! Add in the African-American women’s votes - you are already in ASTRONOMICAL territory!
Then add in the Liberal “I got a vagina, too” voters and the Liberal “OMG! The first woman President!” voters, she is pretty much already over the necessary numbers to win!
I fear not the Obama’s, as Barrack will drive away many “cross-over” voters, just like BJ Clinton’s presence did for Hillary.
The only down side for the Democrats is that the only way they will ever win the Presidency again is the ALWAYS nominate a minority! The minute the go back to a white voter - whom they have spent YEARS lambasting as the “evil doers of all things bad,” - they will lose!!

Agreed. The Dems need to put together their voting coalition of left constituency groups that won the presidency in 2008 and 2012. There's NO ONE ELSE who might be able to do that.
I think Trump would prevail, but it would be very close. Michelle Obama is a political natural talent. The fact that she doesn't appeal to a single Freeper (including me), who find her repulsive, isn't the point. She would get the illegal vote, the black vote, the LGTXYZ vote, the lib vote, the majority of the white suburban female vote, etc etc etc

The funny thing is he made the right diagnosis - the Dems are out of touch and sync with middle America - but then he offers the worst “cure” possible.
She ought to concern all FReepers. As some have already mistakingly posted...they think it is about qualifications. LOL...it is not. Otherwise we would have NEVER been talking about President Obama OR President Clinton (who won because he played the sax on Arsenio) ...Scott would have won in a LANDSLIDE and Gillum would have not even been competitive. "Beto?" Not even close.
One day Freepers are going to wake up. It is about GOTV for the base. It is about energy. Had the dims not out Hillary on the ballot and that weirdo Kaine as the VEEP...we wouldn't even be talking about a president Trump because their voters in Detroit, Phili, Miami, and other inner cities wouldn't have stayed home. They would have come out and voted as they did in 2008.
Make no mistake-The democrats aren't nearly as stupid as the GOP. They won't repeat the same mistake twice.
