Jeb Bush, who unsuccessfully ran for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016, told CNBC on Thursday he feels like a "fish out of water" in the current state of divisiveness in America.
Asked if he'd ever consider running for president again, the 66-year-old former Florida governor said: "I don't know. I love policy. I love my country. But this political environment right now, I'm not suited for. To be honest with you. I'm a fish out of water. I can't imagine having to attack someone to make yourself look strong."
In the "Squawk Box" interview, Bush said he did not vote for Donald Trump in the 2016 election and did not vote for Hillary Clinton.
However, Bush said, "I'm not a 'never Trumper.'" He said fellow Republicans should work with and "praise the president when he does good things," such as tax reform and deregulation.
"But when he goes beyond the line, or anybody else does for that matter, you have to stand on principle," he said.
"I don't blame Donald Trump for the cultural malaise that we're in. He's a byproduct of it," Bush said. "The cultural environment has changed."
The division in the U.S. is "dangerous," he argued....

Exactly, that’s why I would never vote for bozo Yeb—Hillary would be president today.
And he started with a $100 million war chest so over $33 million per delegate.
We know Jeb. You’re not tough enough. You’re not willing to hit right back at the Lunatic Left and their propaganda arm, the MSM when they spread lies and propaganda. That’s why you and those like you lose. Trump is not like that. He fights back - and he wins.
Yes, what a putz. He doesn’t know that “a fish out of water” STINKS! So does his future political career.
“You’ve been tested and found wanting”!
President Trump should be put on Mt Rushmore simply for killing off the Bush and Clinton dynasties. Plenty of other reasons to get him up there, but this accomplishment alone may have saved the Republic.
For someone who says he’s not a never Trumper, for the last two years he’s rarely missed a chance to attack the President. Jeb has never gotten over dropping out of the primary. Every month or two Jeb joins the attack on the President. Except he’s really bad at it, since he tries to get the last word in by repeating what the MSM has already said. It is childish and shows how tone deaf Jeb is.
Gave Jeb! a Red Bull once and he almost moved as fast as a turtle for a couple seconds.
Still Mr Low Energy though after that wore off.
Tell Jeb he is DOA! He didn't endorse TRUMP when we needed Florida or it was GAME OVER, luckily TRUMP didn't need Jeb
If my choice was Jeb Bush, and some alcoholic homeless nutcase lady from Tulsa...for any office, I’d pick the nutcase lady. Every single time.
Jeb is fake, and permanently handcuffed to some kind of behind-the-scenes lobbyist group.
... i.e., try...
You know what they say about people who have to say this.
I was embarrassed for him. That was brutal.
When it comes to the Bushes, I am continually amazed how they ever got elected to anything without any public speaking ability.
GHWB would continue speaking through applause. W would mostly mumble, when he actually did speak and Jeb, Mr. Excitement, could not inspire anyone to do anything.
OK. Wrap it up. Please clap.
Id never do what Trump did to get elected.
As in, take a stand on border security, fight against the abortion culture, lower taxes, fight to get better trade deals for the country and stay awake for the entire day? Yeah, we know, Jebby.. youre just not that kinda guy.
Please clap.
Not being willing to do what’s necessary, even if it makes some people hate you, is why you are a loser, Jeb.
Let me offer a Reader’s Digest version of the interpretation of that passage from Bible teachers I trust.
The context is key, and the Laodiceans would have known exactly what the message meant. Over the centuries the idea has been a bit lost, though a kernel of the truth remains.
So maybe this will help.
The area around Laodiciea (forgive my fat finger cell phone spelling please) was known for its springs of water. People traveled there for them. The hot springs provided relief from muscle pain and various other maladies while the cool springs were wonderfully refreshing and delicious.
The idea may very well be that Christ is urging His people to play one of these roles. Both are vital to life: relieving our fellow man of pain and hurt AND refreshing them with love, friendship. What is our role?
The waters that were stagnant had no function...didn’t heal, didn’t refresh. Christ cannot use that type of bad water.
I hope this helps.
Jeb?
Zero Credibility. Totally phony.
