US President Donald Trump has been the best recruiter for the Democratic Party, the associate chair of the Democratic National Committee, Jaime Harrison, has said.
He told BBC Hardtalks Stephen Sackur that President Trump's actions were killing the Republican Party in the long term and splintering it like no-one else.
You can see the Hardtalk interview in full on Thursday 9 August 2018 on BBC World News and the BBC News Channel and after on BBC iPlayer (UK only)....

I’m sorry, but how can a person receiving near 90% approval from Republicans, and an estimated 50% approval overall be killing the Republican Party. Definitely an absurd accusation.
He’s killing that part of the Republican party that needed to be killed.
I didn’t see a single, dead, Republican among the thousands and thousands of people that have attended his rallies.
Try a different tact, “Jaime”, that one is NOT going to work (either).
Whoever this guy is he is meaningless.
Trump isnt killing the GOP. The GOP that spends like crazy, ignores border security, and bends over for Dems every chance they get is killing the GOP.
From the British viewpoint, the Republican Establishment IS the Republican Party. What we are seeing with Trump, is the removal from power of the globalist, "cheap labor" Establishment.
“... President Trump’s actions were killing the Republican Party in the long term and splintering it like no-one else.”
He’s remaking it. Should have been done a long time ago, like right after Bush I lost to Clinton. Ryan, McCain, Flake, Corker, will all be gone very soon.

That’s why that rat-bastard Steele and others in the British spy agencies conspired with the FBI to take out Trump.
He says that like it is a bad thing.
Henninger the country clubber was pissing and moaning about this very subject on Varney this morning.
’killing’ the Republican Party in the long term and ‘splintering’ it like no-one else.”
He’s supported by 90% of GOP voters. I suppose that you could consider the remaining 10% a “splinter”. Maybe they could start their own Splinter party.

+1. Once the GOP took power in Congress in ‘94 they started their slide into big establishment spenders and guardians of the status quo. They had no idea how to push an agenda and get anything done other than line their own pockets and expand the size of government.
‘Zactly...
Well Trump is killing me with MAGA and Winning so much:-)
No, the GOPe is killing itself and not a moment too soon.
My family left England centuries ago, I do not care one breath what they think, let alone my ancestors from Holland, Sweden and elsewhere
They think their opinions till move us around
