President Donald Trump’s approval rating edged higher during a week in which he faced withering criticism following a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling that he is positioned to weather the latest controversy sparked by his unusual brand of politics.
Mr. Trump’s job approval rating rose to 45% in a new Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, the highest mark of his presidency and up 1 percentage point from June. The survey was taken over a four-day period that started July 15, a day before Mr. Trump’s news conference with Mr. Putin in which he questioned the conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia meddled in the 2016 election.
Because the survey started a day before Mr. Trump’s news conference in Helsinki, pollsters said the results may not capture the full reaction to events that unfolded throughout the week. Still, pollsters said results in the two days following Mr. Trump’s remarks—deemed by Newt Gingrich, a Trump adviser and former U.S. House speaker, to be “the most serious mistake of his presidency”—differed little from the preceding two days.
“During what is a terrible week in terms of media coverage and focus on the president, these numbers don’t budge,” Mr. McInturff said, describing the president’s approval ratings as “stable.”

Of the 535 congress critters, the VP, 50 governors and all other state & local officials, there is NO ONE MORE PRO-USA than Donald J Trump. Whatever he is negotiating with Vladimir Putin or Kim Jong-UN, will only benefit the country.
And I have wanted trade wars since 40 years ago, after observing how we are selling out the country with trade deficits.

Well, I think that is it. The article accounts for the rise by saying that Republicans react to media hysteria by moving toward Trump, but I think most are there already. The truth is that more and more people react to the anti-Trump media negatively; they don’t buy into the manufactured echo chamber induced hysteria from inside the beltway. In fact, they assume, astutely, that whatever is being pushed by the media in its role as The Ministry of Truth, is the exact opposite of truth.
