Democrats have a new theory for how they can win back Congress and the White House. Just like "soccer moms" helped put Bill Clinton in the Oval Office in 1996, and "NASCAR dads" helped George W. Bush win in 2004, Donald Trump, the theory goes, was elected because of "#NeverHillary" voters who didn't particularly like him but despised her. Axios reports that Democrats are targeting the "20% of Trump's voters [who] told exit pollsters they didn't like him" hoping these reluctant Trump voters will help power a "blue wave" in the 2018 midterms and defeat President Trump in 2020.
One problem with that theory: The left's nonstop, over-the-top attacks on Trump are not peeling those voters away from him; they are pushing them further into the president's camp.
In recent weeks, Trump derangement syndrome on the left has reached critical mass.
First, there was Robert De Niro's "f -- Trump" tirade at the Tony awards, followed by Samantha Bee's calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless c -- " on her TV show.
Then the owners of the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va. threw out White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders because she works for the president, while chanting protesters heckled Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen at a Mexican restaurant.
Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., added fuel to the fire by openly calling on mobs of left-wing activists to "absolutely harass" Trump officials....

Unrelenting hatred of Trump, his voters, the demand to abolish our borders, demanding that ICE be abolished, and championing the “rights” of illegals over the rights of Americans, just doesn’t sound like a winning strategy. We’ll see how it goes in November.
Democrats are proof that stupidity does repeat itself.
Trump won in 2016 even though many people were unsure what he would be like as President. By 2020 he should have won over many of those.
It's hard to see the Democrats nominating anyone with wide appeal to Americans outside their favored interest groups. So I would say he has excellent prospects for winning in 2020, provided that the Democrats don't decide to take him out by force before then.
It isn’t just “Hate Trump” that’s turning people off, it’s “Hate Trump Voters”, in which outright violence toward people who don’t vote the right way is actively encouraged by media who then turn around and blame the victims. Calling someone a Nazi or a white supremacist and then wondering why he doesn’t vote for you is, let’s face it, pretty stupid.
a putsch is a secret and sudden attempt to overthrow a government.
According to my Webster's dictionary, the German word comes from a Swiss dialect. But it defines it as "a petty rebellion or popular uprising." I don't think the conspiracy by the Deep State can be characterized as a petty rebellion, even if many of the conspirators are petty.
The Deep State’s operations are not in the nature of a putsch. The DS would, I think, like to gin up a putsch, though. It just might give them sufficient edge to actually go for the gold. I really don’t think any of them at all can understand just what caliber of enemy they have in Donald Trump, though.
We don’t really know whether something has already been tried and silently cut off at the sprout.
Wasn’t Adolph trying to take over a pub or something?
