In the most astonishingly bone-headed move since nominating Mitt Romney for President, the GOP establishment spent major cash to help elect Democrat Conor Lamb in last nights highly contested PA-18 special election.
Yes, you read that right. Failed Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan and his Congressional Leadership Fund pushed a Democrat to victory over a Republican with direct mail advertising touting support for our Second Amendment Rights.
Ill repeat that again. A so-called GOP PAC led by Paul Ryan spent thousands of dollars in a direct mail campaign to convince voters that Conor Lamb was a conservative who would protect Americans gun rights in Congress.

If the ad is really funded by the Congresional Leadership Fund, it's a Republican CAP.

Republican super PAC warns Democratic voters that their candidate supports gun rights
The Stupid Party loses again.
Political parties are one of the worst institutions in America dating back to our Founding. I will never again be in one.
Something is wrong here. I checked the website of congressionalleadership.org and those ads were all anti-
Democrat and pro-Republican.
Thank you. I also went there and I call fake news on this whole article. Someone is deliberately trying to create friction where there is none. This is a lie. This is what we expect from Democrats. Maybe a Democrat planted this story to create friction.
So what are the majority of GOPe anyway? Democrat-Communist moles?
If this doesnt get Ryan the boot as leader, what will?
See my post 65.
See my post 65.
Well, someone printed & distributed those mailers.
I’m thinking it’s a stupidly misguided attempt to scare anti-gun Dems away from Lamb, but instead convinced pro-gun Dems to come out in force. Wouldn’t take many to tip the count.
Republicans can plant friction-causing stories too. They’re just not anywhere near as good at it.
Welcome to FR.
I’m sure you saw post #61.

They are real fliers really sent out by the R PAC. The Stupid Party thought that notifying Dem voters that Lamb supports 2nd Amendment rights would make them not vote for him. Stupid.
I don’t know if these are posted on FR, just found them.
If I have time I’ll post as a thread.
GOP not conceding in Pennsylvania race, may seek recount

A source familiar with the situation also told The Hill that the GOP plans to call for all ballots and voting machines to be placed under lock and key in case of a recount. And they are also likely to file a lawsuit based off of three concerns: confusion over the Pennsylvania secretary of States new website, allegations that Republican attorneys were kicked out of rooms where absentee ballots were counted and that Allegheny County voting machines were miscalibrated.
Pennsylvania special election may see recount; Lamb, Saccone separated by razor-thin margin
Republicans plan to make three complaints that could form the basis for a recount.
Republicans plan to probe allegations that touch screen machines in Allegheny County were not properly calibrated and could have possibly registered votes for Lamb when the voter intended to vote for Saccone.
These attorneys also plan to allege that GOP attorneys were blocked from observing absentee ballots by Allegheny County election supervisors.
There are also some concerns that the newly court-drawn map for the next election caused confusion.
I also saw reports from bus drivers saying many busloads of illegals brought into district to vote.
This looks like something that may have been designed to be sent to liberal areas with the objective of depressing the vote and turn his own base voters against him. The article doesn’t explore where it may have been sent or where it was in fact sent because that obviously wasn’t the point of the article. This district does in fact have some liberal areas.

There are leftist areas in the district where they may have sent this to try to depress the vote and demoralize his own base voters. That’s not an unheard of strategy for campaigns or campaign committees. But no one commenting wants consider that so they can have an excuse to bash Ryan just for the sake of doing so.
