2,500,000+ people?
Are sitting down boots? Because I have worse news.
We have imported 30 Million LEGAL immigrants in last 25 years. 90%+ of them are low skills, low education, low wealth people. They were sponsored by a relative who was already granted legal immigrant status (not US citizenship necessarily, because an legal immigrant of permanent resident visa, aka green card, can sponsor all his/her relatives for green cards)
So yes, 2.5 million sounds awful, but to me those 30 million sound even worse. Majority are receiving government assistance in one form or another.
