Sen. John McCain pronounced President Trump's objections to the sweeping sanctions measure he signed Thursday "misplaced" and said it was "critical" that Mr. Trump comply with and implement the act, as signed.
"The concerns expressed in the President's signing statement are hardly surprising, though misplaced," McCain said in a statement soon after the president signed a bill which limits his ability to unilaterally alter sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea.
The Arizona senator also took the opportunity to take a stand for the powers of Congress, which rival the president's.
"The Framers of our Constitution made the Congress and the president coequal branches of government," McCain wrote. "This bill has already proven the wisdom of that choice."(continued)

....This bill has already proven the wisdom of that choice...
And thumbs down McCain’s vote on healthcare showed his lack of wisdom.
However, he has always been irrational.
I’ve never found myself rooting for brain cancer before, however...
His mouth looks like a stroke..or maybe just from surgery
You ran for President. You lost.
If I didn’t know he’d just had surgery,I’d say that he was playing around with Harry’s exercise equipment.
Maybe he’ll shut up soon - I thought his treatment was starting this week.
Maybe McCain can help in the battle against google. Google seems to have hidden similar statements McCain surely made about Obama in the dozens of cases where Obama ignored congress and the courts. /sarc
McShamey is a lying traitorous coward
He can pound sand
I am also rooting for the cancer. Every day McLiar will go on petty bitter rants against Trump, it will only get worse and worse every day. Flake will also get worse and worse every day.
I truly hate my senators.
If they are coequal congress has no business trying to impose their will on the executive.
Same here.
We both hate them. We have freepers screaming about our votes here in Arizona when the GOP-e gets these two scumbags through because of open primaries. Then we have to vote for them against wacko’s like Ann Kirkpatrick in the fall.
So the way Flake is playing it, he’s auditioning to be the next turd in the punchbowl after McInsane finally stops cursing us. They will then run Flake against a super foul leftist wacko in the general to create a win win for the establishment. I can’t play anymore. I won’t vote for Jeff Flake, even if we forfeit the seat.
Problem is McCain thinks HE is co-equal or superior to the president. In that, he is desperately misguided as to our Constitutional system.
As a Vietnam veteran myself, McCain is an embarrassment to the military as well as the country....
He is going to take his hate to the grave so as for me, he is already there and these rants are just something that he put in his dead man file to be released upon his death.
Trump is one of the few that did not kiss his arshe. For that he is determined to do everything to haunt Trump and demanding that it continues into the hereafter.
We have to destroy Flake in the primary election. President Trump has Flake is his crosshairs, that’s a good thing. My husband and I are willing to spend a lot of time and money getting rid of Flake.
The guy is a first class idiot, chump, and product of a pampered childhood followed by preferential treatment his whole life other than when he was in that POW camp. Even then, from what I've heard, he was set apart from the others a good bit due to the fact his father was a big deal.
Whatever that bastard says is 99.9% of the time the exact opposite of what's good for the country. Everyone seems to have forgotten he was caught dead to rights in a crooked caper years ago and should have been tossed out on his ear on an ethics violation then. His leaving the Senate can't came soon enough.
