Did a late night of baseball result in a confusing line of inquiry during a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing?
Senator John McCain had some interesting questions for former FBI Director James Comey during his appearance in front of the committee on Thursday.
While other committee members focused on meetings and phone calls between President Donald Trump and the former FBI director, McCain harped on a probe into Hillary Clintons emails.
In the case of Hilary Clinton you made the statement that there wasnt sufficient evidence to bring a suit against her although it had been very careless in her behavior, but you did reach a conclusion in that case that it was not necessary to further pursue her. Yet at the same time in the case or Mr. Comey, you said that there was not enough information to make a conclusion. Tell me the difference between your conclusion as far as former Secretary Clinton is concerned and Mr. Trump, McCain asked.....

Isn't 80 a little old for most people to do such a busy, critical job? I know my senators are still in their prime.

The way Comey acts, he too thinks he is above President Trump... I cannot believe nothing was brought up about lord McCain's special delivery to Comey of that made up dirty dossier on President Trump... The devil owns WDC... lock stock and barrel.

Nevermind the scandal of Hillary, obama, and Lynch... Internet’s playin’ dumb again.
But if it runs McCain out of office, I’d consider that a win for conservativism.

Comey, Twitter Users A Little Confused By McCains Questions During Hearing
No surprise. McCain seems to be confusing everyone these days...including himself. Retire with dignity, John before you make a bigger asshole of yourself than you already are.

McCain certainly wasn’t clear, but I think he was trying to tie the investigation of Hillary’s emails with the Russia investigation. He wanted to know why Comey had that announcement in July, 2016, letting Hillary off, yet the Russia investigation linking Trump to the Russians was ongoing. He was inarticulate, but he had a point. Hillary and Podesta would link the Russians to the DNC emails hacking, but Hillary was no longer being investigated in regards to the Russians. Never mind that she took money and transferred 20% of American uranium to a Clinton Foundation donor to be sold to Russia.

Alright, tossing aside what I think of McCain, this is actually an excellent question. He's pushing the point home that Hillary was much more guilty, but that Trump is the one being investigated. McAmnesty, of all people, is highlighting partisanship.
Broken clock syndrome, or maybe he just sees the writing on the wall.

I think you nailed it Origonalbuckeye!
It was a reasonable line of questioning where McCain queried Comey as to why it was that Clinton should:
1. Be let off the hook with connections to
A. Lynch
B. Russia
C. E-Mail Scam
2. Why Trump, who has not even one piece of evidence that he is connected to Russia, is still under ongoing investigations.
3. Why Clinton is not available to the congress or senate for additional investigations, as at least McCain still has questions he would like to ask.
I would say, that until the Russia investigation, the Clinton campaign as well as the Trump campaign cannot be cleared of any wrong doing.
To: 2ndDivisionVet
He was trying to point out, in the form of a question, the gross difference in the way that Comey handled the case of Mrs. Bill Clinton and the case of President Trump.

Poor John McCain.
I'm not sure where he was going but I think I do.
Hillary broke the law with server\classified documents.
There is no question about that.
Comey did not clear her, contrary to popular belief.
He basically said it would probably be impossible to prosecute based on intent.
Now we come to Donald Trump and the Russians.
There is no investigation of Donald Trump.
There is no evidence of wrong doing by Donald Trump by any Intelligence agency.
Donald Trump would like somebody - FBI - to announce that the President is not under investigation.
Comey will not do that as the Russia investigation is still open - and it's an investigation that doesn't include Donald Trump.
Hillary is a target, is guilty and is cleared. Trump is not a target, no evidence of wrong doing and can't get the investigator to say that. If I'm I'm Trump, I'm pissed and I fire Comey.
