Hillary ran the worst presidential campaign ever
The New York Post ^ | April 18, 2017 | John Podhoretz

So guess what? In the last weeks before the election, the Hillary Clinton campaign did no polling. No. Polling. Whatsoever. Oh, it had data. Lots and lots of data. Analytics, even. Data analytics! But it had no independent information on the overall field of battle in states like Florida, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.

So when the election began to turn Donald Trump’s way, the Clinton campaign had no idea.

This is one of the thousand revelations in “Shattered: Inside Hillary Clinton’s Doomed Campaign,” the new book by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes that, for political junkies, redefines the word “juicy” for our time.

Campaign honcho Robby Mook “was worried about overspending . . . so he declined to use pollsters to track voter preferences in the final three weeks of the campaign.” Mook had learned from his time on the Obama 2012 campaign, Allen and Parnes write, that “old-school polling should be used for testing messages and gauging the sentiments of the electorate and that analytics were just as good for tracking which candidate was ahead and by how much in each state.”

Guess not.

Allen and Parnes report that the Republican National Committee did know — but just couldn’t accept it. The RNC didn’t brief reporters on early November polling data it had developed in Michigan and Pennsylvania, “because the upticks there were so rosy that party officials didn’t believe their own data.”(continued)

Jebbie, yes. The other RINOs, most likely. But there were others in the field who stood strong on principle.

Well, Cruz had a following like that. Cruzers tend to be very loyal and dedicated.

any other Republican would have capitulated at the first cry of "racism" or "sexism."

There were other candidates who had a demonstrated record of standing up to that kind of abuse, even from fellow Republicans (let alone Dhimmicraps.)

Exactly. The fix was in, so why bother with the physically demanding need to actually campaign? It worked so well in the primaries, after all. Especially with her iffy state of health. Her handlers clearly understood that the best way for the campaign to implode were for her to have another "public" episode like the 9/11 ceremonies, so best to lie low and let "the machine" do the work.

Fortunately for history, those plans didn't quite work out.

No, Cruz NEVER had the volume of, nor the diversity of supporters that Trump had and Teddy lost most of his once staunch supporters, during the primaries and especially after the GOP convention.

Oh yes, they were a merry, nasty little band here ( and I was once a Cruz supporter, so don't even attempt to go there ), but it was much thinner in the real world, and he could NEVER have beaten Hillary, had he somehow won the primary.

HOGWASH...you are either lying, or you have a problem with short term memory.

Go back, on FR, and read the threads from '15 onwards, that have anything at all to do with Cruz. As you go along, more and more poster, POSTERS WHO HAD ONCE BEEN HUGE CRUZ SUPPORTERS, were completely turned off my him and those on his team.

And it was even worse, in the real world.

I don't have CDS; however, your Cruz kneepads are soiled, shredded, in tatters, and in desperate need of removal; so too the scales from your eyes. ;^)

Not sure if it was worse than McCain, he snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
