The Coming Democratic Majority? Not So Fast.
Slate ^ | March 6, 2017 | Yascha Mounk

The right fears it. The left dreams of it. But both may be deceived in assuming demographics will change how America votes anytime soon.

Last summer, an anonymous writer by the pseudonym of Publius Decius Mus wrote in the Claremont Review of Books that electing Donald Trump was the last chance to save the United States from certain doom. Invoking one of the planes hijacked by al-Qaida terrorists on 9/11, he argued that:

2016 is the Flight 93 election: charge the cockpit or you die. You may die anyway. You—or the leader of your party—may make it into the cockpit and not know how to fly or land the plane. There are no guarantees. Except one: if you don’t try, death is certain.

In Publius’ telling, the “deck is stacked” against conservatives. The media and universities are opposed to their very existence, drawing young Americans to the left. The country’s demographic transformation is even more worrying: “[T]he ceaseless importation of Third World foreigners,” Publius wrote, “means that the electorate grows more left, more Democratic” at every election....

Read the whole article and they correctly come to the same conclusion, in part, that I did regarding the candidates of 2016:

One was a bitter product, while the other was a better product and they need a candidate of the latter quality to win.

Maybe so bit, I’m encouraging their vile nasty attitudes.

Though I am thinking of dropping one friend. It is uncomfortable near everytime I am in their presence and I’m not able to tolerate their Bulls hit anymore.

Doesn’t matter how much I try to ensure we are doing activities outside of politics, it just keeps coming around in the form of whips and firehoses.

Like many described in this article they are embracing KuhRayZee like a long lost Friend and nurturing it like only anger could grow a weed.

The majority of second-generation Hispanics in my state, anyhow (TN), self-identify as white. FWIW.

My whole life I’ve been hearing that any day now minorities will switch to the Republicans and it never happens.

I think many of us would be surprised at just how many minorities are conservative in thought, attitudes, temperament, and how they vote.

The thing is being a minority should have nothing to do with which side or party someone chooses. Most of us know the dems have been conning the Hispanic minorities for generations into thinking the dems will take care of them when all they really do is give them lip service. The immigration laws are what they are. Obie and the gang had full control of the Executive branch and the Senate and a majority in the House and still did nothing significant about immigration so that proves all they are is mouth.

A majority of Cubans and Asians vote conservative and more and more Hispanics and blacks are voting conservative once they see through the thin veneer of the left’s lies and bullspit.

The dems did far more for the deviants (LGBTxyz) than they did for minorities in the last 8 years. Obie’s only legacy will be making homosexual marriage legal. Big whoop. Now they can legally be as miserable as anyone else. Nothing stopped them from being spiritually married before.

The dems claim the environment when in fact the right cares just as deeply but we have common sense about things; more pragmatic. Just look at how the left leaves the Mall in DC after a big event they are the majority of and how those on the right leave it. Night day with the left trashing the place. The left just like to be angry about something all the time; that’s why it’s common knowledge (they don’t even deny it) the leftists have some kind serious mental health problem. Currently it’s labeled as TDS; Trump Derangement Syndrome but it goes much deeper.

I sometimes wonder if these leftist Millennials will suddenly take a turn to the right, much as the leftist Boomers did when they turned into Yuppies during the Reagan era. That would really throw a monkey wrench into the Dems’ plans.

It’s already starting with many of my generation.

Not exactly a flood just yet, but many my age are seeing the hypocrisy and the lies of the current leadership and are disgusted.

“and more and more Hispanics and blacks are voting conservative once they see through the thin veneer of the left’s lies and bullspit.”

I’ve heard these exact words since the 80s and nothing ever changes.

““means that the electorate grows more left, more Democratic” at every election....”

Right. That’s why Hillary won the 2016 election. That’s also the reason why rats lost more than 1,000 legislative and executive seats - state and national - since 2010. BTW, rats completely control only five states while republicans own 26 states.

Finally, there is a lot of evidence that people become more conservative as they age.

Duh.
