"Trump Shouldn't Have Those Arguments": Another Indicator They Still Don't Get It
self | 1/23/2017 | LS

Posted on 01/23/2017 3:06:43 PM PST by LS

Listening to the drivebys, and even Rush and Hannity to some extent, tells me that Trump STILL is playing 3D chess while everyone else is watching a Parcheesi match.

The latest is this "fight" over crowd size at the inauguration, or how many people watched it. First, this is unprovable, because no one knows how many people were viewing this on a non-TV screen--Facebook, a phone, iPads, etc. Any REASONABLE person would assume that with the 31 million confirmed watching on TV, and the million present at the event, at last 10 million more watched on alternative media, this was easily the most watched inauguration ever. Of course, the drivebys/fake news media are not reasonable.

So why fight? There are several reasons, and all of them are good.

1) The "Broken Window" form of law enforcement works on journalists. Never let a small lie fester and take root. Attack them on EVERY lie. Make THEM defend their fraud (as, after he got rolling, Spicer did). Bush '43 failed miserably at this, as Karl Rove admitted in his book, calling it the worst mistake of Bush's presidency. Call out the press, every time, all the time.

2) It establishes that there IS another "side to the story" and that fake news cannot be relied upon to provide facts. This is critical---and this part Rush did get---to keeping the troops motivated, fired up, and in the game. This is all important.

3) But going back to Kzir Khan and the "Mexican judge," other arguments that Trump "shouldn't have," both I and Scott Adams at the time wrote that in the long run Trump won these. In Khan's case, it was what was said vs. the image of Khan on stage with a submissive, non-speaking Muslim wife. Believe me, that image stuck with a lot more people than the tiff between Trump and Khan.

Meanwhile, what was Trump doing while that was going on? Retooling his campaign with Bannon and Conway to take it to the next level. While the media was a-buzz with the "controversy," Trump was taking real, practical steps to win.

Now? More of the same. The fake news media is obsessed with crowd size, as Rush puts it, in an attempt to delegitimize Trump by saying he doesn't have "that many" supporters. Meanwhile, what is Trump doing?

Issuing executive orders, cancelling Zero's executive orders, resetting the playing field on almost every issue, all behind the curtain of the "crowd" debate.

I'm reminded of one of the masters of military deception, Robert E. Lee, who would "demonstrate" in front of the Union Army with about 2/3 of his force while Stonewall Jackson was smashing in on a nearly undefended flank with the other 1/3.

I can post this because I know the fake media is too arrogant to admit they are being had and too stupid to change even if they knew it. So, fake news, keep carrying Ashley ("I'm so lonely") Judd and Madonna (long in the tooth is an affront to teeth!), while Trump completely "transforms" the government. That's it. Just keep those cameras pointed at Katy Perry's, er, ... points.

It would be awesome if you could track that report down. I was at work and watched it on C-span. This was my 8th voting election, but actually the first time watching an inauguration!

THIS is what Trump was doing while the press obsessed over crowd size.

Trump distracts the lowfos with “entertainment” that occupies their time, energy, and conversations, while behind the scenes, he quietly takes real concrete actions to Make America Great Again.

It's not about the crowd size, tweets or MLK busts specifically.
The press *should* report on what Trump does, good and bad, but stop making stuff up.
There, that's so easy only a Liberal can misconstrue it.

I was kind of thinking about this also. After awhile I thought, you know, it kind of seems like he WANTS this chatter going on, as he does the work behind the scenes.

Keep the press occupied on the inane bs while the real dealing is done.

Nah, the bastards lie about eveything, crowd size, Americans killed in Benghazi, etc.

It is a big deal. I'm not equating Benghazi to the crowd debate other than that the MSM lie with just as much vigor, no matter what the topic. Their lying must cease.

Because most of Trump’s supporters had jobs and could not attend.

Also, many of my friends who voted for Trump were afraid to speak out. I get IRS notifications every year since 2011, during the the Tea Party Insurrection.

Trump’s inauguration broke live video streaming records

It comes down to: the media is his most determined and voracious enemy now, just as they were in his campaign.
Trump defeated the Democrats, but not the media.
The lying media won’t stop until they look at their declining revenues and say: “Enough!”.

Trump’s objective is to drive down their total audiences to the point that the media are losing money overall even though they cater to the Democrat-favorable marketing demographics that their advertisers pay more for.

It is 3D Chess vs Checkers. No one is going to abandon Trump now because of anything the media does. If they could accomplish that, he be gone already. But by torqueing up the media every chance he gets, he highlights their partisan nature and makes them look foolish. I heard Kellyanne Conway say that the media’s approval rating is a well-earned 14%. After six months of tantrums like Chuck Todd threw on Sunday, it won’t be even half that.

OrangeHoof :" Zucker threatened Trump by saying Trump isn’t aware that only one English language news channel
is available throughout the rest of the world and it is “us”."

As long as CNN makes Trump look like an impulsive airhead in charge of a divided country,
by the time the rest of the world realizes his potential, he will have the US back in a leadership position
rather than 'cow-towing' to the rest of the world, especially the subsidized terrorists in the Middle East.

LS,
Now I'm beginning to think Bannon did hire you! To speak directly to the troops out in the field!

In my lifetime, I haven't seen a politician use strategy like a war general. Never. And since our Generals have been muzzled for so long, we have forgotten what Generals think like.

It takes a historian, such as yourself, to draw comparisons from American war history to educate us. The press is even worse off than the average American. They've been steeped in a one-sided educational system and answered to bosses who required one-sided reporting.

The years ahead will be very interesting. I watched Spicer’s entire press conference just to refuel after the long national nightmare.

Trump does not give in or give up.

The pundit class should never run for office. They always are telling Trump what he should or should not do. If he did it their way, Hillary would be _resident!

It hasn’t dawned on them yet that Trump won against all odds.

I just totally disagree with you.

Destruction of the media bias is of vital importance. Everything else — everything which is “more important” — gets a whole lot easier if the media just starts reporting the facts and stops issuing propaganda in a non-stop effort to torpedo everything Trump tries to do for us.

The media is as much of an enemy as foreign invaders from Mexico or radical Islamic terrorists from the Middle East. The media must be re-shaped. Trump is fighting the good fight.

Thats exactly it.

All he has to do is send a tweet and they go into a week long freak out.

While they spin a frenzy, he works, make phone calls, issues Exec Orders, has meetings, bombs ISIS, tears up TPP, moves Embassy to Jerusalem, courts Union leaders, etc.

It’s still Day One !

Just in the name of getting things right.

“I’m reminded of one of the masters of military deception, Robert E. Lee, who would “demonstrate” in front of the Union Army with about 2/3 of his force while Stonewall Jackson was smashing in on a nearly undefended flank with the other 1/3.”

Actually, Lee would demonstrate with 1/3 and flank with another 1/3 and fight another battle with the last 1/3. Chancellorsville was like this. 2nd Manassas was the same but he brought 2/3rds with him with Longstreet.

Picky? Yes, but, I am a historical board wargamer, and, it’s a challenge to win like that against a competent Union player.

He will drive down their revenues, but I disagree: it will not matter.

Even now, with Slim and Bezos backing NYT and WaPo, they aren’t in it for profits. They are in it for ideological reasons, so they will subsidize these by the millions.
