President-elect Donald Trump has become more popular among New York voters since his stunning win on election night, according to a Siena College poll released Monday.
Forty-one percent of voters in the state now hold a favorable opinion of the president-elect ― the highest ever favorable rating in any Siena poll of New York. Trumps favorable rating is 7 points higher now than it was when the college conducted its last poll just before Election Day. Likewise, his unfavorable rating has dropped by 10 percent in the same period, from 63 to 53 percent.
Trump lost the largely Democratic state to rival Hillary Clinton by a margin of 37 percent to 58 percent.
While New Yorkers are equally divided on whether Trump will have a positive impact over the next four years, a large majority are optimistic that Trumps policies will be good for issues including infrastructure, terrorism and jobs.
Seventy-two percent of New Yorkers believe that a Trump administration is likely to improve the quality of the nations infrastructure. A near unanimous number of Republicans hold this belief, and a large number of Democrats (64 percent) and independents (72 percent) agree.
More than 6 in 10 New York voters say the Trump administration is likely to protect the country from terrorism. An equal proportion of voters believe Trump is likely to create more good-paying jobs....

Everybody loves a winner.
I have a feeling that 2020 could very well be the 21st century’s first blowout election (400+ EVs or 10% pop vote margin).
Especially if the Democrat Party becomes the Keith Ellison Party.
I’m a NYer and I never needed any warming up to do.
Well, maybe four months ago. :)
That’s all water under the bridge now.
“I have a feeling that 2020 could very well be the 21st centurys first blowout election (400+ EVs or 10% pop vote margin).”
While it’s often “bad” to get ahead of yourself, I share your optimism.
All Trump has to do is deliver (I think I have typed that on several posts ... I feel like a broken record :-) ). If he delivers on three key topics between now and 2018 (Obamacare, immigration, ‘some’ economy topics), the Rs should be able to make some significant gains in the Senate. If Trump uses that additional power to benefit *everyone*, I think you’re looking at CA as the only D state in 2020 :-).
However, two years is an eternity in politics. Four years may as well be forever. A *lot* can happen between now and tomorrow :-). Moreover, Trump isn’t in power yet.
It is nice to dream though :-). If you’re gonna dream, you may as well dream bigly :-)!
Looks like huffington post accidentally put this in the “politics” section instead of the “entertainment” section.
In 6 months, when Trump has a high popularity rating, what will the ranting left do? Think they’ll finally be quiet? I don’t.
They will never live that one down.
Well if they had any decency. But they don’t because they are just another lying left wing publication.
NYC or NYS? Peeps that elected DaCommieo exhibit poor judgment.
Dems wasted a ton of money on Hillary, thinking it was a sure bet with great potential to clean up the Senate.
Doubt Keith will make them open their wallets
It's a fake question.
They should considering how much he’s done for them throughout the decades.
