EDISON, N.J. - U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pledged that the United States and India would be "best friends" if he is elected and that he would boost intelligence sharing with India in the battle against Islamic militants.
Trump spoke at an event sponsored by the Republican Hindu Coalition to raise money for victims of terrorism. It featured Bollywood-style performers who danced in colorful, traditional costumes.
"If I'm elected president, the Indian and Hindu community will have a true friend in the White House, that I can guarantee you," said Trump, who noted that as a real estate developer he has two "massive developments" in India.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has developed a friendly relationship with President Barack Obama, a Democrat who wants Trump's opponent, Hillary Clinton, to win the Nov. 8 election....

India would be an excellent counterbalance to Chinese expansionism. If India can continue to continue to deal with bureaucratic corruption and remove economic obstacles (Modi’s “Thatcherite Revolution”), I can see India economically overtaking the People’s Republic of China.
Now I need a curry , a lager and some pappadons!
while Hillary thinks all they are good for is to run gas stations
I actually see Trump developing strong ties with Russia, India AND China.
I think India, particularly in light of its recent advances in military technology, our common military and geopolitical interests, and it’s geographic location would make it an excellent ally...
Plus, India’s use of ultrasound to select only male babies has produced a huge surplus of millions of men who have no prospect of getting a wife. I’m sure that there are some in the Indian government who wouldn’t hesitate to feed into a meat-grinder of a war with China, who also has millions of surplus men, with only the prospect of taking care of aging parents. A protracted war would solve the surplus male population problem of both countries.
Hindus I know love Trump, because they have seen the face of radical Islam up close and personal. Some I know even emigrated to the US to escape the divisive influence of Islam in India (near borders to Pakistan/Bangladesh).
It is interesting to consider the historical context of India...they practically invited the Brits into India in the 1600’s, because they were, at the time, under the repressive thumb of Islam’s Mughal Empire and were looking to throw off the yoke.

As more and more men become feminized in the U.S., maybe the surplus males from India and China could come over to fill the gap and perform the necessary male functions.

YES!
Alone and confused in San Francisco.
Watched his speech, and some of the dancers. I thought it was excellent. Desis for Donald. Go Trump Go!
Modi comes from a business community. His actions as governor of Gujerat state for 10 years made that state highly prosperous. One of his main push in Gujerat was to reduce bureaucratic hindrance. The result was the Tata Auto plant was operational in record short time. People from other states voted for Modi in the hope he would do the same for the whole country.
Great. Lets outsource more jobs to them and let in more Indians to take American jobs. Sorry Don. You have my vote but we already suck up to India enough.
Everyone should see the movie: Hillary's America.

Nailed it. With the right East Asian South Asian alliances, we can contain China—and to go on a tangent, I think Trump could even bring Duterte back into the fold.
Donald Trump (got my vote) apparently feels the need to curry favor with those who favor curry.
(sorry)
