Because it’s about defending Western civilization, without which none of the Democrats’ constituency groups could survive, against something inherently hostile to it.

This is wrong, it is evil, and we must all stand against it. Every human being has a right to live according to his or her faith and conscience, and nobody has a right to murder someone who doesn’t share their faith or sexual orientation. If you’re a Democratic politician and you really want to stand for LGBT, show real courage and stand up against the vicious ideology that has targeted our fellow Americans for murder."
That’s a major stink-bomb thrown into the Democrats’ camp. The cultural-Marxist Left has for years been hard at work inventing a succession of provocations designed to paint ordinary Americans and the country’s traditions as racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted, intolerant, you name it – when there is a real villain out there which would bleed the Left just as dry as the Right, and rather than recognize that threat they’ve made excuses for it and played along with the fiction that vigilance against sharia Islam and the creeping civilizational jihad infecting Western countries is another form of bigotry.
Well, now with Orlando we see that sharia Islam and the gay community are not going to coexist. And you can’t blame this on Christian conservatives, and you can’t blame it on Donald Trump, and you can’t blame it on guns. The Left is going to have to choose. Will it choose to preserve Western civilization, which stands for human liberty and some concept of public virtue based in the Judeo-Christian tradition, or will it abandon that civilization and stand by as Islam fills the void?
No, but I would vote for that ticket and so would many others.

Several months ago you were convinced Cruz would win the nomination. You were wrong. Now you're convinced Trump will ask Cruz to be his partner on the ticket. Try using a rational thought process.
Trump has this thing about loyalty, honesty, ethics, and integrity. Cruz, by not endorsing Trump,has violated those tenets. Furthermore, Cruz flat out told lies about Trump, and pulled unethical stunts in Iowa. Ergo, Trump will not have anything to do with Cruz, and most likely do his best seeing to it that Cruz will never be in national political office.
