Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders said he understands the anger against Donald Trump that fueled violence at a Thursday rally but denounced the protesters that harassed and assaulted Trump supporters.
"I understand how reprehensible and disgraceful Donald Trump’s positions are, how ignorant they are, how much he is appealing— and I can understand the anger, I surely can," Sanders said at a press conference in Berkeley, Calif., Friday. "The bigotry that is coming from his mouth, the insults to the Mexican community, the Latino community and the Muslim community, and women, and African-Americans, and veterans. I understand the anger.
"But we are not going to defeat Trump, you know, by throwing eggs or getting involved in violence of any kind. We defeat Trump when we stand together as one people and fight for a progressive agenda."
Anti-Trump protests at a Thursday rally in San Jose turned violent as his supporters left the event, with protesters harassing, following and assualting attendees.
When asked Friday about Trump protesters who supported him, Sanders said he didn't want supporters who would turn to violence.

Throwing eggs is only a start. These provocateurs have been orchestrated to use their terror tactics to make people afraid to go to a Trump rally and to support Trump and hope this lessens the building of momentum by Trump’s movement. As provocateurs, they want to instigate a violent reaction from a Trump supporter. If they can get one to kill a instigator, they will have accomplished their mission. Such a reaction will denigrate all of the supporters. From then on they will be painted as violent, angry, racist haters of America who will kill to get their way. They think that will discourage people from going to his rallys. They calculate people do not want to associate with a denigrated crowd, and the numbers at the Trump rallys will go down. They want the rally attendance to go down.
These riots have got the Left rattled. Middle America is paying attention.

It is extremely important to find out who are behind the provocateurs. Who is buying the protest signs and the huge Mexican flags. Anyone found out orchestrating these provocateurs should be indicted on inciting a riot. Trump should hire some detectives to unwrap this conspiracy.

Not to be critical of your comments, and while I believe you are correct in many respects, I also believe the larger problem facing us is that these socialist supporting dumbasses just haven’t been impacted by illegal immigration, open borders and all the other “free Sh!t” programs YET. But trust me on this, they will be eventually, although it will be far too late for them and us if they get their way.

How has Trump insulted women, African-Americans, and especially veterans?
I understand how the mis-informed could think his remarks insulted the other groups -- when quoted out of context. But, when correctly quoted that he was talking about illegal alien Latinos, and terrorist Muslims, suddenly he isn't very insulting unless you happen to be in one of those sub-groups.
Uh, Bernie, that's the only way leftists can win anything.
