A rather unusual "foreign policy" speech. Hillary actually took a lot of detours away from foreign policy to jab at Trump across a wide variety of topics. If this was intended to be a foreign policy speech like Trump's was a few weeks back, she was totally unpresidential by comparison. She should have stuck to the foreign policy theme -- and not try to do a weak -- zero passion -- impersonation of a Trump rally. Then again, she probably doesn't have much to say about foreign policy other than, "I will continue all the good work that Barack and I pursued". So she probally felt compelled to just fill 30 minutes. Finally, at the end of the speech, she more or less said, "America's in great shape right now." Oh, really? I don't think any candidate can win this year without acknowledging that Washington is broken. Trump's and Bernie's successes speak volumes about Americans wanting to see the Washington establishment taken to the woodshed. You cannot run as an insider, Hillary. Better break out and get used to that orange jumpsuit. If this is typical of what she can deliver in a serious speech, Trump is going to mop the floor with her. |
