The Daily Beast’s Eleanor Clift argued that Republican presidential candidate Texas Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) “makes Donald Trump look like a raving liberal” and “most Democrats would look at the two of them, and would prefer Trump over Cruz” on Friday’s “McLaughlin Group.”
Clift said, “We’ve paid so little attention to what Cruz actually stands for, and when — the attention I’ve paid is — I get pretty scared, actually. He makes Donald Trump look like a raving liberal, actually.”
When asked who should we would vote for between the two candidates if she had to pick, Clift responded that she made herself clear, and didn’t have to, or want to repeat her preference.”(continued)

Thank you for finally attempting to answer the question. But I never said the man was a greedy miser who did no good deeds. I asked for any things he’s ever done to advance conservatism. I concede I did not check every one of those links, but I did check several that I’d never heard of and they, while apparently admirable to support, give no evidence of his doing anything to advance conservative principles. I’m sure in most/all cases I could find plenty of other liberals who supported them too.
I am a conservative and live my life by conservative principles. As a conservative, I believe only conservative principles has any chance of pulling us back from the brink. I, wrongly apparently, thought most FReepers believed the same. Sadly, it appears that most FReepers are far more interested in exacting their pound of flesh from the GOP (who I also despise). Here, now, where the rubber meets the road, when we can put up or shut up about whether we TRULY believe what we’ve said we believe, many are choosing the shiny bauble who SAYS what we want to hear despite all evidence pointing to the contrary.
Let me try to put it another way. I’m sure you would concede that trump has been, just in the last decade, all over the map regarding the second amendment. I’d hope you would concede that that would cast serious doubt about the strength of the conviction therein (if it’s changed once for no apparent reason, why wouldn’t it change again...he can’t point to a reason for the change of heart...I’ve looked). So...what do you suppose is going to happen the next time there’s significant outcry from the public she another sandy hook happens...and sadly, it will? He has no conservative principles to fall back on to stiffen his spine in the face of the outcry, because he doesn’t really believe it. He will bend and bow to the public pressure.
Truly, if elected, Donald trump will preside over the final chapter of a free America.

It’s a Q and A. Don Jr is more articulate than most candidates in the race! Talks fast, not in a patronizing way and not like he’s lecturing. Lots about government waste, small government, “the left”, the constitution, the second amendment.
