Its a well known story: When Ted Cruz went to work for the George W. Bush presidential campaign in 2000, he had a lot going for him. He was in his 20s, a Texan, and smart, boasting a Harvard Law degree and a Supreme Court clerkship. It didnt hurt to be young Hispanic man in a campaign looking for Latino votes. But Cruz was so self-aggrandizing and irksome that he managed to annoy folks at the headquarters in Austin so much that he never won a coveted slot at the White House. When Bush took office, Cruz was relegated to the hinterlands of the Federal Trade Commission.
Since then, Cruzs unlikability has become legendary, especially in the Senate, where he really pissed off his colleagues with a government shutdown, and even called his partys leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell, a liar. No wonder Ted Cruz was on CNN on Wednesday night as part of their family town hall series. With his telegenic wife and adorable daughters, Cruz did a lot to dispel the image of him as yucky.
Like Nixon in the 50s, Cruz in the 10s isnt lovable but he has come very far very fast. Here he is, a first-term senator in second place for the Republican nomination, having outlasted the likes of Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush. Like Obama was when he ran and won the presidency, hes only in the fourth year of his first term....

Epic.
Simply epic.

Trump promotes whatever any particular follower of his wants him to promote.
Just like Obama was to his followers, he is a blank slate. He's taken every side of every issue...his followers hear him say one thing they like and grasp on to it, and he's their man.
Man if they are not paying you just send me Neil Bushs addy and I’ll write the pay request myself for you homeo
I would say the author is talking out his rear end, but that would not be civil, so I would simply say not this go round.
Cruz is not dumb so why has he chosen to go for the 2nd round of votes in Cleveland? It hit me just this evening. He is not at all concerned, nor has he spent a lot of time campaigning. He has worked very hard gathering unearned delegates with little chance of winning. Why? Knowing his long history connected to the Bushes it occurred to me that he made a deal with the GOPe to deliver any delegates he can muster to Jeb on the second or third round of votes in exchange for the VP spot. Then he will be president in 4 or 8 years.

You are being watched.
Yeah, but Jesus had 11 disciples who basically stuck with the program. In last week’s readings, when asked three times Peter said that he loved Jesus. I don’t think that Cruz could come up with 11 people in the Senate that even like him.
Oh for Heaven’s sake!
Ted is NOT Jesus Christ.
Ted is NOT the face of God.
He is not being offered on some cross.
And he will not rise again on the second ballot, the third ballot, or any other ballot for that matter.
Claiming this stuff is blasphemy against the Lord God and Savior... and it is also the very likely reason that his campaign is off the rails, and quickly falling into great and despairing disrepute amongst the many believers in this great nation.
Knock off with the messianic baloney.
Now as for Trump. He is flawed. Never claimed such stuff about himself. WE KNOW he is flawed. He has no stigmata in the minds or hearts of his supporters. He is NOT taking money from the mighty GOP e and should not until he is the official candidate of the GOP and even then... he might not.
I don’t mind the “wait and see the story play out” approach of some freepers have, that is until we see Trump get to 1237 or whatever... but at some point, Ted is going to have to concede defeat for the sake of this Nation or face receiving the political version of the wooden stake.
He cannot possibly be the candidate unless we have a national tragedy that takes the Presumed front runner for the nomination out of the picture. It won’t happen... the Almighty has NOT endorsed Ted to that extent. Is that what you really want?
He may have anointed Ted to be in the US Senate, so fare there is no evidence of God favoring any of Ted’s legislation. But regardless of that Ted will not be the nominee...
“When a man’s ways please the Lord, HE makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7 {since you allude to a scriptural background and convictions}
Obviously you have not listen to Trump. Trump goes to the 'heart' of the lying corrupted politicians that live and survive off their donors... These elected politicians that then pass legislation to repay their donors and send US the bill. Trump speak is to talk about the many ways the political class has enslaved US and use us as their servants. Trump speak is about involving US ... 'we the people' having a say in how 'we the people' govern.
Trump does not take to small PTA, closet style caucuses, and church house preacher type campaign events. There is nothing remarkably close to the Obama/liberal MO to Trump's campaign. Trump create a dialog seeking freedom of thought... Cruz looks down his nose at 'we the people', just like Obama does.
You are starting to yell and scream like one of the 75 percent-ers out there you claim cannot stand Donald Trump, you know the womenfolk?
“Trump does not take to small PTA, closet style caucuses, and church house preacher type campaign events.”
Cruz looks down his nose at ‘we the people’, just like Obama does.
Every trade deal is not, contrary to Donald Trump, a function of stupid American negotiators, it is the result of politics, interest group pressures, and a conscious decision by the administration which controls the negotiators to favor one sector in the American economy over a different sector. This decision is cold-blooded, it is not stupid.
If our negotiators make a deal that favors protecting Hollywood's output but sacrifices Detroit's output, that does not make the problem "globalism" it makes the problem political. But before we conclude that all American economic woes come from stupid trade negotiators, let us look at wrongheaded domestic policies like the highest income tax rates on the globe (to be a globalist about this discussion), intrusive government regulations (like EPA) and other regulations without end.
To get away from Trump bumper sticker con games we ought to ask ourselves some serious questions:
1. Is the problem really are trade deals, or is the problem internal domestic policy?
2. Do are trade deals overall benefit or hurt the American economy?
3. As bad as granting TPA authority to the Obama administration undoubtedly is, what was the alternative for the next six years?
4. What would Donald Trump actually do in the trade negotiations, which sector with the harm and which sector would he benefit, keeping in mind that he not only would preserve biofuels subsidies in Iowa to get elected there, but would increase them?
5. Considering his pandering to special interests in Iowa, are you not terrified at the prospect of Donald Trump making these decisions?
(WAY past due....)
Except that those that see Cruz as the face of Jesus are going to be in a world of hurt when they wake up... They will join the ever long list of victims needing retribution from the rest of US.
Given the final summary in this VF article and the very good analysis of Nate Silver at 538, I’d say all this talk about Cruz winning by second ballot at the convention is wasted energy. It’s over folks, Trump WILL win either by 1237 or on the first ballot in Cleveland.

When the messenger is full of it, it's not an attack to identify that 'the messenger is full of it.'
That's called 'an observation' or in this case 'a public service.'
Another example of being full of it would be this:
Attack the messenger! Attack the messenger! Attack the messenger!
