Oregon Pro-Life Group Endorses Ted Cruz: “His Record on Pro-Life Issues is Impeccable”
Life News ^ | April 13, 2016 | Steven Ertelt

The leading pro-life group in Oregon today issued its endorsement for pro-life Republican candidate Ted Cruz for President. Oregon Right to Life says Cruz has a sterling pro-life record that it described as “impeccable.”

“ORTL PAC is pleased to endorse Senator Cruz,” said Gayle Atteberry, executive director of ORTL. “His record on pro-life issues is impeccable. We can trust that as president, he will do all he can to protect unborn babies. That includes the all-important decisions he would make in nominating new Supreme Court justices.

“Both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders,” said Atteberry, “support abortion on demand, from conception to birth, as well as continued taxpayer funding of abortion and Planned Parenthood.”

Atteberry told LifeNews that the stakes in Oregon’s primary election are higher than usual as every delegate counts in the battle for the Republican nomination. She said “Oregon Right to Life PAC encourages pro-life voters across Oregon to vote early for Ted Cruz to ensure that Oregon plays its part in electing a pro-life president.”

In fact, Cruz has a 100% pro-life voting record during his tenure in the Senate.

When it comes to the issue of abortion, Cruz has compiled a 100% pro-life voting record during his tenure in the Senate. On 16 total votes on pro-life issues taken while has has served in the Senate, Cruz voted pro-life every single time.

The votes tallied by the national Right to Life Committee include multiple votes supporting a bill to de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business over the years, votes to repeal or de-fund Obamacare, which uses taxpayer funds to pay for abortions as well as votes to protect the conscience rights of pro-life Americans.

The tally of 8 votes below does not include two additional votes in August and September to end debate and stop the Democrats’ filibuster of measure that would de-fund Planned Parenthood. The August and September votes Cruz cast to defund Planned Parenthood brings the total tally to 10 pro-life votes cast during his Senate tenure.

In a recent interview, Cruz expound on his pro-life views and said that pro-abortion Democrats use the issue of contraception to try to attack pro-life Republicans and make them look like extremists.

Cruz gave an interview last week to the Catholic news network EWTN and he asked Cruz about some comments he made supporting contraception. The Texas senator said he was pushing back against a Democratic “political attack that was deliberately deceptive.”

“I am unequivically pro-life, I believe that every life is a precious gift from God that needs to be protected from the moment of conception until the moment of natural death,” he said. “But the Democrats didn’t raise that battle on the issue of life; instead they did it on contraceptives, and it was deliberately deceptive, they were trying to scare young women into thinking some politician is going to come take their birth control away from them.”

“And the point I was making through humor – and humor is often a very effective way to communicate – is that nobody was talking about banning birth control for anyone,” he said.

Cruz also defended the Little Sisters of the Poor, who are headed to eh Supreme Court to defend their right not to be forced by the Obama administration ot pay for abortion-causing drugs under the HHS mandate found in Obamacare.

But remember, we found out that the pro-life movement is a big fat fraud, since, apparently, it’s the “mainstream view” that women who commit the sin of abortion shouldn’t ever be punished for it once its illegal anyway.

I voted for Cruz on March 1 in TX solely for his prolife stand. I don’t think he has run a strong campaign at all, particularly since mid-March, WI notwithstanding. The anti-Trump rhetoric, and vice versa, has hurt both candidates. They will have impossible odds of uniting at the convention.

Didn’t they run a pro abortion GOP senate candidate in 2014?

Trump & Chael Sonnen are strong in Oregon against lyin’ Fields.

That's your response to my abortion comments? After years of being in the pro-life movement, I never heard, even once, the idea that women who commit the sin of abortion shouldn't be punished. "Pro-Life" groups and weird men with feminine faces on Twitter, and gimp-Freepers, apparently informed us all that the appropriate position was that women are basically retarded and are not responsible for anything they do, especially abortion.

In fact, Cruz has a 100% pro-life voting record during his tenure in the Senate.

This is an endorsement of him for Senator. Most of being a senator involves showing up and voting.

Cruz also defended the Little Sisters of the Poor, who are headed to eh Supreme Court to defend their right not to be forced by the Obama administration ot pay for abortion-causing drugs under the HHS mandate found in Obamacare.

This is an endorsement of him for Solicitor General, Attorney General, maybe SCOTUS Justice.

All of these people running around endorsing people don't seem to have a concept of putting the right person in the right job. You can hire advisers to figure out the details of policies. They come cheap at a million bucks a pop in DC. If a cabinet secretary is not up to the job, he can be replaced, there are people below him that can make up for him. If a supreme court justice is bad, there are 8 others to make up for him. If a senator is bad, there are 99 to be bad right along with him. If a representative is bad, there are 434 to be bad right along with him. If the wrong person is elected president, it will cause far more problems.

The president picks the cabinet secretaries, the supreme court justices, is the person in the room who sets the tone for all conversations, is the person in the room who must be calm when everything goes to hell.

Did any of the many mistresses of Sen. Cruz have an abortion during or after their affairs?
Has this been researched? And not by phony, fixed New York Times type rags?

What Right to Life group do you belong to? I receive both the Virginia Right to Life and the National Right to Life newsletters and I have never seen them advocate that. I’d be interested to see their newsletter, always best to be informed about all the views of the Right to Life movement.
Thank you

Cheating on your wife & potentially destroying your family along with the families of your married mistresses isn’t exactly pro-life.

So you’re saying that Trump isn’t pro life because he cheated on his wife, not sure how they relate.

I’m sorry you said cheated on his wife, since Cruz hasn’t done that, that leaves Trump who has, so your saying that Trump isn’t pro life because he cheated on his wife. You not me made that blanket statement, do you wish to retract it?

I never mentioned trump. The thread is about Cruz’s alleged pro-life credentials. You can’t say for certain that Cruz DIDNT cheat on his wife.

Being pro-life means more than anti-abortion.

And I can't say for certain that you don't molest children, so that means you molest children because I can't prove you don't, right? that's how ridiculous your statement is. ever heard the term you can't prove a negative?
You said that people who cheat on their wives can't be pro life, I'm sorry you can't make a blanket statement like that and say it only applies to one person.

Thank you for referencing that article 2ndDivisionVet. As usual, please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

As with Trump’s misguided remarks concerning federal funding of abortion, the pro-life Oregon group evidently doesn’t understand that the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for abortions.

So even if Trump or Cruz work with Congress to stop funding organizations like Planned Parenthood, until patriots wise up to the reality that the feds don’t have the constitutional authority to pay for vote-winning abortions, and exercise their voting muscle to permanently stop the feds from providing such funds, then it’s only a matter of time before another lawless president like Obama approves funds for abortions again.
