You know the funny thing is they were holding a right to open carry rally at the Alamo, Cruz was right across the street meeting with Tea Party women, yet he couldn't make it to that rally.

Ronald Reagan was friends with and supported a vast number of Democrats in and out of government at all levels. Are you suggesting that he agreed with all of their positions? Do you think he failed to see some of their arguments?

But the reality is I am looking for someone that will bring change, and Cruz is not that person. He only promises more of the same. So I guess we should agree that neither of us are going to sway the other, and leave it at that.

I can understand that. Open carry is a controversial issue that many gun rights supporters disagree with. It doesnt indicate a lack of support for the 2nd.

“Ronald Reagan was friends with and supported a vast number of Democrats in and out of government at all levels. Are you suggesting that he agreed with all of their positions? Do you think he failed to see some of their arguments?”

The difference is that Reagan was a principled and active conservative such that no one ever questioned his conservatism. I’m sure he had many friends that were Dems but in those days many Dems were conservatives. I dont know if any were far left America haters but I doubt he would have donated money to them. I realize that Trump is different since he is a business man and not driven by a political philosophy like Reagan was. Being driven by business concerns means he has to suck up to influential sc*mbags in govt. This behavior is usually bashed and not forgiven when done by other business men, but it doesnt seem to bother Trump supporters.

I can agree to that. I think there are legitimate concerns about both candidates. You think if Cruz wins it will be more of the same. If Trump wins I think he will revert to his NY values and govern like a liberal. Lets hope we are both wrong.
