If you mean Democrats when referring to crazed leftists that is just not true.
He was a registered DemocRat
That's true, so was Reagan at one point in time.
Ssupported Obamacare
I find no evidence that supports that claim, but here is the Trump Healthcare Plan. Speaking of healthcare plans I fail to see one being offered up by Ted Cruz.
assault weapons bans
Better to realize the error in thinking than to hold on to an idea that is total nonsense. People change opinions. For example, I use to support abortions, whereas now I am totally against them and extremely sorry that I ever bought into the notion that abortion was okay. Though I never supported abortions beyond the 1st trimester, I had used convoluted logic to support it. I finally realized that this support was wrong-headed to say the least.
supported open borders
I can find no evidence supporting that claim.
But we all know his stance on that issue now. I waited for a long time for Cruz to pick up that stance but it never came, because I was a staunch Cruz supporter who thought Trump was a joke. Then when he finally did, it seemed to mirror a lot of what Trump said, but with reservations. That's when I started looking into Ted more and found that he really just picked this up because it was working for Donald, but he really has no desire to close the borders and keep America a sovereign nation. Which is why you rarely if ever even hear him mention border security anymore. Border security themselves support Trump over Cruz for that very reason.
abortion
A tough issue to be sure. Especially since it has been law for 40+ years now. Like myself, Trump was late in realizing the evil that abortion really is. The only way to change this is going to be by changing peoples minds, like Trump and I have done. Doing so by law will just not garner support, even with the revelations exposed as to the totally inhumanity being performed in the execution of babies at the hands of abortionists.
Like you said no one is perfect, but Ted is not a constitutional conservative (at least from what my research has shown me about him) at all. He is a fraud whom I honestly believe is in no way a natural born citizen and thus is ineligible. Remember his citizenship revolves around an immigration act that Congress created stating only 1 parent of a child born on foreign soil is needed to convey citizenship. Congress does not grant natural born citizenship, but rather citizenship, period. Natural born citizens do not need an immigration act, nor can any person question that status. They are born on American soil to American parents, and so there is no need for anyone to clarify their citizenship. It can only be American citizenship.

If you look at the list of RATS funded by Trump I think you will find plenty of crazed leftists. You will also find plenty of RINOs. What you will NOT find are Conservatives. In addition, support is not just monetary. Trump has made comments over the years supporting Obama, Reid, Clinton, Schumer, Pelosi and other America hating RATS.

Absolutely, but Reagan became a repub in the early 60s and not coincidentally with a run for office.

Trump says that he supports the Obamacare mandate and the coverage of pre-existing conditions, two of the central aspects of Obama care. Recently Obama (like Cruz) has said that he will repeal and replace Obamacare but neither has released a plan. The difference is that Cruz has been against obamacare from the beginning. It seems to me that Trump is against the plan out of convienence, not principle.

Good for you, however it is even better to have the right position from the beginning. Cruz is against assault weapon bans out of constitutional convictions, and always has been. My impression is that Trump’s support for the 2nd amendment is not central to his political philosophy. Rarely if ever have I heard Trump talking about the constitution or use it to support a position.

My comment that he is for open borders was incorrect, based on a mistaken recollection that he had at one time supported amnesty. Actually, the thing I like most about Trump is his stand on immigration but that position has not been completely consistent, changing from they all have to go, to some can stay, to criticizing Romney’s position on deportation as crazy and maniacal. Out of all his positions I think immigration is the one he is most passionate about and likely to try and implement.

Cruz is strongly against abortion and has been for some time. I think Trumps position is, once again, for political convenience. That’s just my opinion.
In conclusion I would just add that I actively avoid the Trump sucks/Cruz Sucks flame wars because IMO they are divisive, and create a lasting hatred between the two sides thereby reducing our ability to fight the real enemy. I don’t always succeed, but I still encourage others to refrain from insulting those who support other candidates.
