This is the first time I’ve heard Cruz say we are going into a contested convention. ..just before this he kept saying he’s making a comeback and will win the 1237. Guess he’s conceded to the fact he cannot win outright, and will count on the bribed establishment delegates disguised as Trump supporters voting for him on 2nd ballot.

Can anyone not see that he is just a tool of the elite now? One that will cause chaos and division, and be the end of the party. He will win blue states in the general, plus the Trump voters won’t vote for him. So a vote for Cruz is now really a vote for Hillary.

This is the week Ted Cruz and the GPOe killed the Republican party.

It’s dead, Jim.

Cruz will indeed win the nomination on the second ballot should Trump fail to win it on the first ballot.
******************
This is an opinion piece but this is pure conjecture. If Trump is a few delegates short why is it more likely Ted can make up a several hundred delegate gap on the second ballot? Not addressed in the article one of many reason the article and title is is not convincing. This is a lifeline to Cruz supporters as Ted will be eliminated from the possibility of a first ballot victory by the end of the month. Trump will then become the presumptive nominee.

No matter what happens, I don't think the GOP will have a brokered convention. I doubt they are going to let Cruz win in the second round. If it comes down to it, they would rather have Trump.

The question is, if Trump drops out after the convention, is he allowed to pick the nominee?

As the Zen Master said: “We’ll see.”
...............................................

My bet is that while he may have started the chain reaction that will lead to Trump’s ouster from the GOP race, once Trump is gone, the GOP Establishment hacks will then use the same tricks... err, excuse me... Rules.. to oust Ted.

And if they DON’T do that, it will confirm what millions have already started to suspect: That Ted Cruz is a stealth establishmentarian, and the hardcore Constitutional Conservative thing was just an act.

Cruz winning by manipulating, lying to and probably bribing delegates. Trump winning the people. Trump winning the AMERICA FIRST voters.

Among the things I wonder about, this lovely morning:

Why wouldn’t Trump get his magic number on a second ballot?

and, Will conservatives ever get what we want by voting?

You should tell your buddies over at Tedstate that Cruz may defeat Donald Trump but he will never be president. He's despised by the Republican party more than Trump.

Jeb Bush has a better chance of being the Republican nominee than Ted. Hope it was worth selling your core principles.

He has no political future.

I am not a trump bot. Nor do I care for Ted.

Ted will not be the nominee this time around. At best he could be the VP. I don’t think he nor Trump will win a contested election. I have been saying this year is going to be like ‘68. I thought it would be on the dem side.

Wouldn’t it be something to see Hillary indicted, and Trump run out of town.
