New York state representative Peter King is not one to hold his tongue on his true feelings about anything, so did you think the outspoken pol wasnt gonna dig in on Ted Cruz today? Fuhgeddaboudit.
During an appearance on The Joe Piscopo Show Thursday morning, Rep. King slammed the Texas Senator amid the controversies hes facing in and prior rhetoric about New York. Just twelve days before the New York primary, Cruz is on major damage control on the campaign trail after a disastrous day in the Bronx saw Cruz getting booed, heckled, and become subject of a big F-U from the New York Daily News.
Let me say something about the New York primary, King told Piscopo in no uncertain terms. Any New Yorker who even thinks of voting for Ted Cruz should have their head examined. Really, heres a guy who refused to sign onto the 9/11 health care act for the cops and fireman. Heres a guy who talks about New York values.
King continued, To me, New York values is what people did after 9/11, invoking a similar response to the infamous Cruz critique that Donald Trump has been using on the campaign trail.
Were tough, and to have some guy like Ted Cruz with cowboy boots walk around criticizing us. Listen, I hope he gets the cold shoulder and other things from every New Yorker. Send him back where he belongs. Hes a phony, noted the representative.
Of course, the criticism of the Texas Senator is unsurprising considering the fact that in March of last year, King threatened drastic personal action if Cruz ever won the party nomination I will jump off that bridge when we come to it. Although King seems to have aligned his views on this issue with those of GOP frontrunner Trump, King was an avid supporter of Florida Senator Marco Rubios bid for the party nom.
During the exchange, Piscopo loved every second of Kings candor. Peter I love the way youre honest on the radio, man. Listen to the above clip from SoundCloud and The Joe Piscopo Show.
Just about every political leader in the state... conservative, liberal, elected, appointed whatever... is going to crap on Cruz for the next two weeks. They've got their own New York constituencies to see to.
I'm sure at the time the remark was unveiled on that Iowa stage, the plan was to win Iowa, finish well in NH, win South Carolina, sweep Super Tuesday in the South, and emerge as the consensus candidate. New York was never supposed to matter.
Well, things didn't turn out that way. Now, he's stuck with no place to go for two weeks. And he's a walking punching bag.
A Cruz supporter and I (a Trump man) swapped thoughts on how he can get out this box. Essentially, if he makes a self-deprecating joke about himself, admits to the folly in a humorous way... It might come across as charming and get him a second look by some.
I don't think he's that kind of guy. This approach would require a deft touch, not a rehearsed debate clip.
You keep posting that like it’s significant.
I did. Just that.
Turns out the NYC firefighters and cops had already received 1.3 Billion in damages, according to comments below an article from The Hill.
And the reason for Cruz’s vote?
Hahahahahaha! [gasp] Hahahahahaha! [wheeze]
I thought that Ted’s dog was named King, just like Sgt. Preston of the Mounties dog. I can’t imagine a Canuck like Ted naming his dog anything else.
Ted ever wrote a check like that?? Or does he just write them to Carly and Walker?
I never said Romney endorsed Cruz. He supports Cruz and has said as much.
Harry Reid wanted to pay for the 911 health bill with taxation of foreign corporations doing business in the USA.
The owners of Cartel Cruz were against taxation of corporations to pay for the cost, and given that the other Billion dollars was already ear marked for NY.
King's criticism was rooted in Cruz's support for tying language defunding ObamaCare to a bill funding the government.
CNN reported that King called Cruz a fraud who will no longer have any influence in the Republican Party.
I hope people will get the message this guy is bad for the party," he said.
He also loved Boehner and was sad to see the ol' drunkard go.
Speaker John Boehners (R-Ohio) decision to resign from Congress at the end of October is a victory for the crazies, Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said Friday.
Im disappointed. This is a victory for the crazies, King told Newsday. You cant appease these people.
You should do a bit of research before you jump in the fire.
He didn’t sign onto it because it was NOT a good bill and had not much to do about the 9/11 responders...

DITTO!!!!!!!!!
Maybe some of the TRUMPERs should review some old Peter King threads.
Link?
I would. Do you realize that in order to get all 95 NY delegates, Trump must win each of New York's 27 congressional districts with 50%+1?
Each NY congressional district is alloted 3 delegates. Unless a candidate gets 50%+1 in that district, the winner gets 2 delegates and the 2nd place finisher gets 1 delegate.
So, if Trump gets 49.9% in CD-7, Cruz gets 20% & Kasich gets 19.9% (with the remainder split among candidates on the ballot who have dropped out), Trump will get 2 delegates and Cruz will get 1 delegate and Kasich will get none.
Trump may get 75 delegates, he won't get all 95.
Ted’s #1 supporter Lindsay is going to hit Peter with his purse
