New York state representative Peter King is not one to hold his tongue on his true feelings about anything, so did you think the outspoken pol wasnt gonna dig in on Ted Cruz today? Fuhgeddaboudit.
During an appearance on The Joe Piscopo Show Thursday morning, Rep. King slammed the Texas Senator amid the controversies hes facing in and prior rhetoric about New York. Just twelve days before the New York primary, Cruz is on major damage control on the campaign trail after a disastrous day in the Bronx saw Cruz getting booed, heckled, and become subject of a big F-U from the New York Daily News.
Let me say something about the New York primary, King told Piscopo in no uncertain terms. Any New Yorker who even thinks of voting for Ted Cruz should have their head examined. Really, heres a guy who refused to sign onto the 9/11 health care act for the cops and fireman. Heres a guy who talks about New York values.
King continued, To me, New York values is what people did after 9/11, invoking a similar response to the infamous Cruz critique that Donald Trump has been using on the campaign trail.
Were tough, and to have some guy like Ted Cruz with cowboy boots walk around criticizing us. Listen, I hope he gets the cold shoulder and other things from every New Yorker. Send him back where he belongs. Hes a phony, noted the representative.
Of course, the criticism of the Texas Senator is unsurprising considering the fact that in March of last year, King threatened drastic personal action if Cruz ever won the party nomination I will jump off that bridge when we come to it. Although King seems to have aligned his views on this issue with those of GOP frontrunner Trump, King was an avid supporter of Florida Senator Marco Rubios bid for the party nom.
During the exchange, Piscopo loved every second of Kings candor. Peter I love the way youre honest on the radio, man. Listen to the above clip from SoundCloud and The Joe Piscopo Show.
Normally I would agree that ain't cool, but in truth, what ain't cool in this circumstance is the sheer hypocrisy on your part there, sir. I mean, c'mon, man, this just supports the notion that conservatives really are hypocrites - we don't like big government, unless it's OUR big gubmint. We don't like ineligible candidates for POTUS, unless they are OUR ineligible candidates for POTUS.
Not from me though. Peter King is still the same old creepy statist he's always been and if he dislikes Cruz that's nothing but good news.
Meanwhile, there’s a long line of people waiting to get in to see Cruz. There’s a difference between Manhattan/Long Island and the rest of the state.
King is a RINO blowhard. It’s not surprising he cannot stand a true conservative.
The Vet changed his mind. Anyone else you know changed their mind?
Amen!
You told me...with certainty...Obama was not eligible because his mother wasn’t old enough. You said that was what you believed 2008-2012. This was yesterday.
Interesting that two gun-grabbers, Peter King and Rudy Giuliani, have endorsed Trump.
Did you see the date on that post? Since the Cruz situation came up I’ve done more research. Here, why don’t you go attack the site owner:
Is Ted Cruz a natural-born citizen eligible to serve as president? [Yes! And I support him! JimRob]

You spam this site with left wing articles 24/7. For me your hypocrisy on the birth issue can’t be mentioned enough. It’s telling and typical for those who worship Cruz.
He’s a putz.
[That aint kosher here, pal.]
bushpilot2 doesn’t have an ‘about page’ OR a ‘tagline’. Very telling.
You forgot Chris Christie.

That’s the class I expect from you. Where’s your Aussie and Kayaking doppelgangers?
Yes, and that one is toned down compared to some.
Wait until they see the knew AP poll.
I despise Peter King.
I just hope New Yorkers like him, because otherwise his statements will only help Cruz.
Pete King can be expected to bash any politician who comes from below the Mason-Dixon line.
I don’t know the first thing about New York politics, but NYC seems a low probability pursuit for Cruz. Would have thought he would string together something upstate or in western part of state. Find a place where they hate NYC and hang it around Trump’s neck via his contributions to Albany and NYC. So far it seems like a misstep.
I think King is a complete creep, but this does show the GOPe’s feelings toward Cruz. They hate his guts and while many are cozying up to Cruz they are doing it because they are not afraid of him. They can ignore him for a term and move on. Trump they fear.
If he was born outside the US. Cruz’s mother, on the other hand, was old enough to confer citizenship under the law. We went over this hundreds of times back then.
