Ann Coulter has been one of Donald Trump's biggest fans, but the conservative commentator said in an interview excerpt published on Monday that she cannot defend Trump's retweet of an unflattering photo of Sen. Ted Cruz's (R-TX) wife, Heidi Cruz.
During an podcast interview with Milo Yiannopoulos, another Trump supporter, Coulter said she found Trump's action upset her.
"I’m a little testy with our man right now," she said.
"You are? Daddy’s annoyed you?" Yiannopoulos asked in response, referring to Trump.
"Our candidate is mental. Do you realize our candidate is mental? It’s like constantly having to bail out your sixteen-year-old son from prison," Coulter replied. "OK, let’s move past last night’s tweet."
"This is the worst thing he’s done," she continued, adding that Trump's comments about Sen. John McCain's (R-AZ) status as a war hero were also hard to defend.
"Everything else I could probably defend. I could, I think, off the top of my head. Most of it — it was them overreacting," she said, referring to liberals. "But the McCain thing, that was — OK it was a dumb joke, it didn’t work. Oh, well. Didn’t kill him. But that tweet last night…"
Later in the interview, Coulter confirmed that she was referring to Trump's Heidi Cruz retweet when Yiannopoulos mentioned that Trump retweeted "a picture of Cruz’s wife and a picture of Melania."
"That’s exactly the tweet I’m talking about," Coulter said. "No, you can’t defend it. This is when we’re bailing our sixteen-year-old out of jail."

I think you're wrong about him caring for people, though. I myself don't need his care, but I think he would be a good guy to have as your boss.

Many have been saying that all along and could see this would bite him in the rear over time. Unfortunately he doesn’t have the skill set to control himself...though I do think he’s been instructed now how to use what he needs to do to control it.... But it’s very difficult for him to start this when it’s so obvious to the trained eye when he’s failing and or trying to use it. Most men with his personality learned long ago what he simply has refused or doesn’t want to use. Thus it will continue.
I think if he wins the Primary he’ll be forced to use a teleprompter as he did at the meeting with the Jewish gathering ... the wrong slip could do great damage where it matters he speaks precisely....and that he cannot do on his own.

I also think, as this has moved along, he's discovered that the Presidency is far far more then he's anticipated it would be...and frankly out of his league as other more seasoned politicians have spoken with him about what he needs to understand, those he actually avoided for quite awhile....and they him.
You cannot say you oppose the Government handling education and healthcare and then state they are the top two responsibilities of government other than security. Mixed signals is an understatement. He continues to reveal he has no foundation and is swinging by the seat of his pants.
I was hoping to read some incisive, sardonic commentary from Ann on this pissing contest, but it looks like all we get from her is embarrassed clucking instead.

Cruz will never let the media determine what he will or won’t respond to, or how...he stated this many times throughout his speeches.
Cruz stated clearly these were false smears.....and that’s exactly the right way to answer.

The photo session with Trumps wife was done ‘FOR’ publication....she was a model and that’s what some of them do. Trump certainly didn’t have a problem with it nor would he if he wasn’t running for President. It goes with the lifestyle and those he runs with...as he’s mentioned the cultural of New York City is different then other cultures might be throughout the country....and he’s right..it is different. Even New Yorkers say they are a league all their own.
