Donald Trump has set his sights on a new target for litigation: the Republican Party. He is threatening to sue the Republican National Committee over delegate allocations in Louisiana. Trump defeated Texas Sen. Ted Cruz in Louisiana's March 5 primary, but Cruz may receive up to 10 more delegates from the state than Trump.
Trump defeated Cruz by 3.6 percentage points in Louisiana. But because the results were relatively close, each candidate was awarded 18 delegates.
There are also five unbound delegates in the state, reserved for party officials and elected officeholders, who are expected to back Cruz. And there are five delegates won by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who has since dropped out of the race for the GOP nomination. They are seen as likely to switch their allegiances to Cruz as well.
The possibility of Cruz finishing second to Trump yet coming away with more delegates has got the New York businessman in a litigious mood....

NPR commenting on ‘organizational weakness’? Excuse me?
A group of taxpayer-funded bloodless dullards who couldn’t run a real business in a competitive marketplace without government subsidization feels itself qualified to criticize ‘organizational weakness’ in a person that is in a whole different league above where they pick their noses?
Shame is nonexistent in liberal minds. They have no odea how foolish and mediocre they look and act. But they think themselves fit to criticize business superstars.
Trying to remember where it was, today, that I heard that Trump had dropped that idea to sue.
Each State party sets its own rules for selecting delegates. It’s been that way since the founding of the party.
There is no story. Under what theory could Trump even begin to litigate?

Trump shouldn’t have run as a Republican if he wants to whine about party rules. I think a lot of Trump supporters have no idea how the whole process works and that is why they are whining about cheating and stealing. The delegates choose the nominee. It’s not just about the votes your chosen candidate gets. Every delegates vote counts. Even the delegates whose candidate has dropped out. That is how we are sure in the end that the majority of the delegates in the party have chosen the candidate. If a candidate isn’t sure he is going to reach 1237, then he should be scrambling and working to secure other delegates.
Hope People put pressure on these elected delegates. Maybe they are up for reelection this year. Anyone have a lust of who they are.
How are the delegates betraying the voters? If Trump gets 1237 delegates before the convention he is the nominee. He can’t be cheated out of anything. He has to win those delegates and he is playing by the same rules as all the other candidates.
Private organizations, like clubs and churches are generally given considerable leeway by courts.
If a plaintff, however, can show standing and that the organization has violated its own rules or by-laws, he’s got a case and depending on the facts, possibly a good one.
Trump doesn’t like to lose or to settle frivolous claims against himself or those close to him. I’m going to guess he thinks he can win.
And Cruz’s relegation to role of spoiler doesn’t indicate any weakness whatever - his team is really good at sifting through the dumpster to see what they can salvage/steal....If Trump’s so weak, why’s Cruz chasing pipe dreams as he focuses on stopping our last best chance to gain the WH?
It does not show organizational weakness. Votes are supposed to count. It shows the system is a sham.

It is amazing that whenever Trump wants to defend himself he is called weak or ineffective. What a load of bs.
Trump should sue id anything to shed light on a system that is a scam. People want to see where they are being ripped off and it certainly looks like a rip off. Why is Trump won the state is Cruz getting the unbound delegates. They need to explain that to the American people. They do not want to however because it reveals a level of corruption that is obvious for all to see.

It’s Kasich and even Rubio that playing as spoilers. Kasich is delusional and hoping for a position in the new Admin. Rubio is still holding his delegates to bargain for a position. ....If Kasich would drop out and he and Rubio would release their delegates, Cruz could probably win.
If-if-if...
until/unless Kasich drops and Rubio releases, Cruz is playing spoiler with little hope of 'winning" anything, likely to be betrayed by anyone he made have made deals with if he manages a contested/brokered convention, and is aiding and abetting those who want Hillary to win the WH because our side has become too fractured to entice folks to vote for our candidate. Blame Kasich and Rubio if you will, but Cruz has decided to "stop Trump" if it's the last thing he does and it will not play out well for our side.
