Kasich: ‘Maybe Ted Ought to Get Out’ of GOP Race

Republican presidential candidate John Kasich appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" Sunday. During the interview, Kasich suggested to host Chuck Todd that rival Ted Cruz should drop out of the GOP race.

"Maybe Ted ought to get out because he can't win in the fall," the Ohio governor said.

"Maybe these people that are hot on that ought to tell him to do it. You know, they tried to tell me to get out of the race how many times, Chuck?" he asked Todd. "And now they should be thanking me for staying in because if Trump did win Ohio it would have been over."

"If you thought your candidacy were helping Donald Trump, not hurting him, would you get out?" Todd asked.

"Chuck, I'm running for president -- this isn't a parlor game of who gets this and who gets that," Kasich responded.....

Good question, I have no idea. Coastal California is a RINO country club haven so I could see them going for a illegal alien loving squish like Kasich.

The rest of the state’s GOP voters are farmers/ranchers so more aligned with a social conservative like Cruz. Have no idea if CA is open or closed primaries so I don’t know if crossover/new voters will be able to come out for Trump.

I could see CA blacks breaking for Trump though, there’s not a lot of love between blacks and illegals in CA.

Once it becomes mathematically impossible for Cruz to win he should drop out. If not, he’s merely a GOPe tool.

Once he can’t win he should get out but his ego will not let him.

Cruz as the nominee means Hillary can take the year off and get ready for her inauguration.

Cruz will never be the nominee. Either he loses fair and square to Trump or he forces a convention battle, the outcome being a GOP nominee not named Cruz or Trump.

He's too blind to see this.

Kasich is certifiably delusional, has way too much hubris, and thinks too little of the ballot box to be the President. He had his chance(s) to convince real voters to vote for him, and now that he is losing, and losing big, he wants to nullify caucus and primary voters and re-plead his case at an open convention where only dysfunctional GOPe elites would anoint him. He needs to go home and suck on sour grapes. He is clearly part of the “GOP rank-and-file are too stupid to know what they need” crowd. FUJK

When people refuse to see such obvious connections, God forgive us. We are allowing the destruction of our nation even though we finally have a man not owned by the lobbyists and who is willing to use his own wealth to serve and who is bringing many non Republicans and minorities to our side.

Well, Trump has a double digit lead in latest polls, so we’ll see if that holds. Scant polling so far. Not till May would I expect to see an uptick in polling and by that time Trump should have a pretty substancial lead. He will probably lose UT, win AZ and roll on from there.
