Overflow crowds in Peoria greeted 2016 presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on his third of five Monday rallies in Illinois the day before Tuesday's pivotal primary elections.
Cruz commented that republican frontrunner Donald Trump "may be the one person on the face of the planet Hillary Clinton can beat in a general election" according to political reporter Rosie Gray.
Cruz mentioned Cook County politics, garnering boos from the crowd in reference to Chicago, Illinois. He slammed Trump over donations to politicians such as the disgraced and imprisoned Rod Blagojevich, the Cook County Democratic Party, and Rahm Emmanuel....

Open your eyes. Look at the thread.
Trump supporters have toxified themselves and whatever environment they inhabit, including home, office, kids’ sports, FR, anybody they can akienate with their 24/7 thirst for Cruz blood. They exemplify the old saying about resentment: drinking poison and waiting for the OTHER guy to die. I’ve given up on them snapping out of it. The Trump-induced rage is rendering most of them psychotic which may be their nascent preferred state... just needed Don to flip the SWARM switch on for them to channel their psychic rot into motion. Sad to watch.
“I mourn the loss of a conservative and civil Free Republic.”
Some of us AMERICANS mourn the attempted assassination of the First Amendment by Republican candidates.
By counting “heads” horizontally, and then counting “heads” vertically my estimation id about 600 to 800.
Not exactly a Trump size rally!
No, Windfarms being shoved up our @sses.
But thanks for playing anyway.
Is it the size of the rally or delegates won that matters?
Always. It's all they understand. Which is exactly why they luv luv luv The Donald.
I will be more specific. There was a time when I would have gladly voted for Trump if he wins the nomination, even though I will be voting for Cruz tomorrow. Given the rampant and growing animosity against Cruz supporters, while I will still vote for Trump in the general election if he is nominated, I can’t say I will do it happily, any more than I was happy voting for Dole, McCain, or Romney. The vote will still be worth the same, of course.
Never was a Cruzer that was nasty at all recently.....noooooooooooooooooo not at all.
Yeah Right.
I guess Cruzers are as almightly as the big Holy Ted himself.
I’m glad Peoria had such a strong turn out for Cruz. It’s had a huge union presence, so it’s nice to see them rally around someone like Cruz, because Republicans aren’t their first choice. Trump would also do well, there.
Is it just me, or are Trump supporters the sorest winners you’ve ever seen?
There are MANY non-GOPe who are supporting CRUZ in Illinois.
Hi John, I’m a very strong Trump supporter. The kindness of Cruz people here on FR is so civil as to call me a cultist, Trumpanzie, and now a Trumpaholic. There is plenty of nastiness to go around.
Insecurity, or they wouldn’t say a ^&%$#@* word.
How many came down to the alter call? ;-)
They must be for “free trade” etc.
Looks to be a huge crowd of about 200. Two hundred.
I thought I was only one of seven Cruz posters left. The rest gave up ion the toxic atmosphere the Trumpettes have created. Fortunately, it will be temporary, as you all will find yourselves in the uncomfortable (for you) position of ‘losers’. It will take a few weeks perhaps to become totally apparent, but I am certain that in the end, you all will be crying and claiming that you were robbed. Boo Hoo Hoo.
But the GOPe is coalescing behind Cruz ...are you comfortable with that ?
