‘Coming here’ does not “residence” make in the sense of qualifying as a legal resident for voting or paying their fare share of local, state and federal taxes.
I was using the phrase coming here, but I meant it as relocating here from the island. Poor choice I guess. Sometimes you assume people are reading in the same way as intended. Sorry for my poor choice of words.
They have been moving here from the island for years.
