Chris Christie has crashed, John Kasich is ghettoized, Scott Walker self-destructed and nobody bought the idea of Jeb Bush, and now all the king's horses and all the king's men -- and Fox News -- are trying to shove Marco Rubio down the throats of the Republican electorate.
But they'll never make the sale.
The fundamental fault line that runs through the middle of the Republican and Democratic parties is that which separates the establishment from the true believers. And nothing is clearer than the fact that nobody will cross that line unless there is absolutely no other option.
The basic strategy of the hysterics about Donald Trump's ascendance is to force an amalgamation of the alternatives into a Great White Hope who can take on The Donald. It's thought that Trump can only win a plurality and not a majority. Based on that reasoning, those who oppose a Trump candidacy posit that all they have to do is to pick off the alternatives until there is only one remaining opponent to Trump. And they have decided that his name is Marco Rubio.
The defect in this thesis is that it ignores the fault line. Rand Paul voters didn't go to Rubio, they went to Ted Cruz. Ben Carson supporters would do likewise....

Thank you for that "I know you are, but what am I" retort. Some of you tRumpets really need to evaluate your Maturity Quotient
Well said.
Dick Morris predicted that the 2008 race would be between Hillary and Condi.
Respectfully tendered.
I didn’t know that!
The current governor?
I hope D. Trump will not pick Robot Rubio. Marco will bring nothing to the ticket. Dems will tear him apart. Marco is not a nbc. He is lazy and sleazy and incompetent. He does not bother to show up for Senate votes. I have yet to hear one good reason to vote for him. Him beating T. Cruz is baffling.

“Movement conservatism” and “pro America First” don’t seem to over lap very much.

Morris is like the blind squirrel that sometimes finds a nut.
He gets this simple one right, but how long will it before he repeats this feat?
.
.
Rubio can only “damage” Cruz in left leaning states.
.
Here’s hoping you wise up.
Trump cannot beat Hillary; perhaps he might have a chance against Bernie.
Cruz would beat both of them easily.
Trump is no prize.
He would pick establishment judges, and he is terrible on taxes; he wants to hold entrepreneurs down with confiscatory taxes.
.
It is not his personal habits I’m interested in. Is that now a national issue, an issue of serious concern?
They must have misreported it on Fox. I know they said Rubio because it caught my attention and I mentioned it to my husband and we couldn’t figure out why. Glad that’s not the case. Abbott is one of our few conservative allies.
