Donald Trump says he's considering suing GOP rival Ted Cruz to challenge the Canada-born Texas senator's eligibility to be president.
"I'm thinking about it very seriously," the GOP front-runner told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America Tuesday. "I already have a lawyer, we're looking at it very seriously, we're thinking about it."
Most Constitutional scholars agree that Cruz, who was born in Calgary to an American mother and a Canadian father, is eligible to run for president. But Trump has repeatedly questioned the senator's presidential qualifications under the Constitution's "natural-born citizen" clause.
"He was born in Canada," Trump said Tuesday. "Lawyers - many lawyers - are saying he doesn't even have the right to run for president. He can't be president because of the fact he was born in Canada, lived there for years. I mean, under that theory I guess Winston Churchill could be" president....

You’re making yourself look foolish.
A cheater supports a cheater?
That is a schoolyard comment without substance.
Settle down, Madam.
Cruz is a citizen and qualified to be president.
Your candidate is giving the dems the ammunition.
There really is a difference and I think you know it.
Trump is worse than Obama.
He’s always got a chain in his hand ...
but Ted is not at the other end.
He’s working at it but I don’t think Trump will get much democrat vote.
He’s with them on a few isssues but he isn’t quite socialist enough.
Dubya currently has an 86% approval rating in Texas and he’s not even running.
LBJ kinda reminds me of Trump.
A difference about what? This is a long thread.
Is this the part where you tell us all that Trump is showing the first signs of Alzheimers? :-)
I’m going to PM you the number for the SC suicide hotline so they can talk you down off the roof Saturday night. :-)
Does he even realize what he is doing?
Hillaryâs so happy sheâs barking.
I donât see this here because I understand itâs grounds for dismissal but on Facebook and other sites I see people saying they will not vote for Trump.
Heâs a polarizing figure. Heâs turned his supporters into worshippers (not good) but heâs made the rest of the people despise him.
He is not acting in a manner that makes me think he should be the leader of this party or the conservative movement.
Did you get your prescription for Zanax filled yet? You will be needing it Saturday evening and then again on Tuesday. :-)
“A difference about what? This is a long thread.”
Oops speaking of Alzheimers. :-0
Hey, Girl, you’re really mad at me now.
Don’t you wish Trump would get something to help with his mental problems.
Not sure about the Alzheimers any more but maybe Bi-Polar?
Hey did you get my PM with the SC suicide hotline number for Sore Cruzermans on primary night? :-)
Interesting legal theory, Judge I don’t know anyone who disagrees with me so, you just rule in my favor. I’m sure if you really tried, you could find legal experts who disagreed with you
So you keep Suicide numbers handy? Says more about you than anyone else
You make a pretty good point in associating LBJ and Trump. I had the pleasure to spend some time with Senator Barry Goldwater on a couple of occasions in the mid-80s and early 90s. I had read his book “With No Apologies” and knew what he thought of LBJ and Nixon, both of whom he had known since their earliest days in the Senate. He stated that Nixon was “the most dishonest individual I have ever met in my life” and what he said about LBJ and his penchant for using dirty tricks reminds me a great deal of Trump.
Not to mention the fact that he’s a germophobe, hates to shake hands and hates to sleep anywhere other than in his own bed. Reminds me of “Snarlin” Arlen Specter, the late senator from Pennsylvania. Although I despised the man, I met him about 15 years ago. Seems he was a germophobe too. Just before he arrived at my office, one of his staffers told me “Just so you know, the senator hates to shake hands” (which I thought was incredibly weird, to say the least). When he arrived, I made it a point to shake his hand vigorously.
So you keep Suicide numbers handy?
Sure no problem I’ll PM it to you. You sound bitter and depressed. I’m here to help. :-)
