Sarah Palin talks about Trump’s Iowa loss and whether they’ve discussed running together

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin flew out of Iowa on Tuesday after traveling there to campaign with presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

Yahoo News spoke to Palin, who was the GOP's vice presidential candidate in 2008, as she passed through airport security. Trump came in second to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, in the Iowa caucuses on Monday night, so we asked Palin whether she thinks Trump will catch up in the next primary state, New Hampshire.

"I think so," Palin said of Trump's chances in the Granite State. "He's going to do well there."

Palin also shared her thoughts on why Trump, who had been the frontrunner, was defeated in Iowa.

"I think he just had to have seen more of his conservative side out, because Iowa's so good and conservative," Palin said.

Palin endorsed Trump on Jan. 19. Given her popularity among conservatives, the endorsement was seen as a boost for Trump's chances in Iowa. At the airport on Tuesday, Yahoo suggested to Palin that Trump might have done better in the caucuses if he had brought her out on the trail with him sooner.

"That's so nice," she said of the suggestion....

Oh? Mr. Obama, Bush and Carter were not incumbents when they won Iowa and went on to the presidency.

No better way to sink your ticket than to make Palin your running mate.

I dont like Trump, but I am sure he is smart enough not pick Palin if he is the nominee.

“I like Sara Palin but the fact that she left office early makes her only good aa a cabinet member and endorsement.”

Can’t let it go, can you, after all these years....

Donald TRUMP (PRAISE BE TO HIS NAME!) will still NOT be a conservative and will still be unworthy of the votes of conservatives.

Trump has the conservative platform in this race. cruz is a Johnny come lately only after he jumped on Trumps coattails. Before that he was all for TPP and amnesty. I am a conservative and Trump and has my vote. You my friend do not, nor do your fellow cruz supporters, own the definition of a conservative.

You are 100% correct.

The Trump and Cruz factions on here and elsewhere need to stick together and quit the infighting.

After last night the GOPe wants nothing more than to try and sneak Marco through. And if Trump and Cruz keep up this narrative bashing NY values by Cruz and the birther stuff from Trump, it ends up diminishing both men.

The mainstream GOPe media today was downright giddy about Rubio. Give them an inch and they’ll steal the entire narrative of the last six-months right out from under us.

Exactly what I mean! My old goes were sart enough to recognize humor when they saw it. Unlike you!

I mean who in their right mind changes their vote at a Caucus because the other guy says your guy is dropping out?

What you mean her endorsement speech that was so nonsensical that even Trump was wincing?

Rubio is this years Romney........the Cruz/Trump infighting is exactly what the establishment wants. So sad so many can't or won't see it and are falling for it.....

I am afraid this country will get what it deserves. Watching the news tonight made me so embarrassed and sad that not so long ago so many brave young men died fighting so that Hillary and Bernie are actually candidates for the leadership of this once great country.

It really is silly talk to talk of "Iowa Loss" when there is a virtual three way tie in delegates coming out of Iowa.

A tiny shard of realism. The Iowa signal? No clear-cut champion, and only 3 are viewed as legitimate. Personally I will double down on Cruz. Trump's gonna run into a money wall and I'll bet he'll flinch. Rubio doesn't appeal to me, a gun-collecting near-libertarian constitutionalist. I like how Cruz is able to befuddle the opposition into questioning their own raisons d'etre. You should see Cruz take on Medea Benjamin.

If after making the entire last year about “It’s immigration stupid” we end up ceding that narrative and allowing the GOPe and Rubio to walk in.......

All I ask fellow Freeper’s to do is consider standing down in the Trump v. Cruz wars here.

We’ve got to stick together on this immigration thing and keep the 50%+ voting block against GOPe. Give it time and Trump/Cruz will sort itself out. We’ve got to first get rid of Rubio.

We’ve come too far.

I'll vote for either Trump or Cruz.
I will not vote for any other presidential candidate. None of the others deserve support.

Trump has the conservative platform in this race.

Touch-back Amnesty, Pro-Abortion, and Single-payer government controlled healthcare has never and will never be a conservative platform.
