On Thursday's edition of Special Report, Stephen F. Hayes of the Weekly Standard revealed he has met several Iowans who are now "former Trump supporters" because he decided not to participate in tonight's debate hosted by the FOX News Channel.
"I talked to a couple of Trump supporters who are now former Trump supporters," Hayes said. "Precisely because they thought that his sitting out this one in particular was a slap in the face of Iowans."
"I talked to one woman last night who was not a Trump supporter, she was going to caucus for Rubio or Cruz. She said, 'I take this very personally. We here in Iowa take our participation in the caucuses very seriously, very personally. And if he is not going to show up and doesn't treat this with the seriousness it deserves, given the fact that it is a contest to becoming the president of the United States, I may stay home,'" Hayes recalled.
"I don't know if that is representative of any broader Iowa population," Hayes acknowledged, "but if the question is, are some Iowans upset about it? Yeah, the answer is some Iowans are upset about it."(continued)

Lets see how things turn out on Monday!
“I talked to a couple of dozen FOX viewers who are now former FOX viewers.”
i’m actually starting to turn to CNN a bit after catching some of their post-debate analysis, which shocked me regarding their lack of bias and insightful analysis, especially compared to the “analysis” by the hacks on FNC. At this point in the game, the only “analyst” on FNC worth spit is Brit Hume. The rest are just gibbering idiots.
The greatest minds of mankind have lain awake at night for nearly 30 or 40 centuries, worrying about what might be "perceived" as "a slap in the face of Iowans".
There’s only profit for people professing to be ex Trump supporters.
The new thing is going to be Frank Luntz shaking down Michael Bloomberg.
Being a bloomberg supporter will be where the money is.
I get it.
Iowans, because they're in the very middle of the country, don't think they need military veterans because all the other states are going to "get it" before they do.
So when Trump helps military veterans instead of pandering to the Iowa attention whores, they get cross, because Iowans don't NEED veterans.
Well Steven I’d say today Cruz has a lot less supporters due to shaming letters.
More than a couple are FORMER Fox News viewers, until the GOP convention is over, anyways.. LOL
Co-panelist Ron Fournier said he has heard the exact opposite from Trump supporters he spoke to in Iowa.
"I talked to a lot of Trump supporters today. They said this is great. Let him do it. Let him stick it to the man," was the reaction Fournier said.
Fournier "talked to lots of them" - no switchy of anything the likely course.
That was Jonah Goldberg.
The Rubiocare lobbyists were trying to claim he said it about the disabled Krauthammer.
I like how Trump calls out his haters like Steve Hayes.
Trump puts a mark on them so you don’t have to listen these talking heads: Megyn Kelly, Glenn Beck, Johah Goldberg, Rich Lowry, Frank Luntz, Charles Krauthammer, George Will, Ben Saase and Chris Stirewald.
You can be assured that the message from any of these people will be to condemn Trump. So why not write them off? This is the difference between Trump and the Republican affable losers that somehow believe these cats will change their stripes.
Troop did say Iowans are stupid.
And Trump is spending all weekend and Monday in Iowa, so the crabby woman should get over it.
It is shocking. At least it was for me, too. The lack of bias against TRUMP was unbelievable, after any given day of experience with FOX bashing him with snark and sniffs.
I can not go without Morning Joe on mnbc. They support TRUMP, defend him and discuss him and have done so daily for six months, before he became popular, they knew he would be a contender. However, they have pivoted to Sanders now that he has taken the lead of Hillary in NH, but there is always a TRUMP discussion every hour of their three hour program.
This was Steven Hayes party line on Fox News. We have poll numbers that refute this. If you watched all the news channels, only Fox commentators generally stated that they did not think Trump was hurt by skipping the debate.
What are the talking heads on Fox going to say?
Go ahead and ignore our event, it doesn’t matter?
Hayes is a Trump hater and has no credibility on the topic.

Trump mercilessly trolled Hayes on Twitter...
Those former Trump supports are a figment of his imagination. I ran into some former Cruz supporters...

I’m a recovering Cruz supporter.
I think he would have lost more votes if he walked into the Fox news kill zone.

I have hear many commentators lamenting about the montage that was planned for Trump.
Smart guy.
Correction:
“only Fox commentators generally stated that they thought Trump was hurt by skipping the debate.
My bad.
Glad you posted this because Hayes has been consistently wrong about Trump for six months. Amazing how hatred can drive someone to lie so much.
