Sen. Ted Cruz's leading Iowa supporters say his get-out-the-vote operation is the best they have seen for a presidential campaign here. He had better hope they are right.
With his monthlong lead in the polls erased, Cruz's hopes for pulling out a much-needed victory over Donald Trump in the Iowa caucuses on Monday now rest in the hands of thousands of campaign workers and supporters who are spending this weekend telephoning, emailing and knocking on the doors of likely caucusgoers.
Cruz's campaign boasts a chairman or chairwoman for each of Iowa's 99 counties, captains in 1,537 of the state's 1,681 precincts, and 10,000 people from this state and beyond who have volunteered to help in the final push....

Call me ignorant about running a political campaign on the ground, but this flyer plus the fact the Cruz campaign is running commercials targeting Rubio specifically and not the frontrunner kind of reeks of desperation.
Every candidate in Iowa is “desperate” because it’s so hard to poll and predict.

Impressive. Support like this would have easily won the White House four years ago. Instead, we got a candidate who was a multi-millionaire and a Party who figured they didn't have to do anything because of those millions.

In context he said anyone who thought Iowans were stupid enough to believe Carson’s stories was stupid.
Trump meant Iowans were much smarter than that.
I don’t need a New York liberal woman who fund-raised for Cory Booker and same-sex marriage efforts and who is best friends with Chelsea Clinton telling ME how to vote.
