Trump, GOP leaders realizing they may need each other to eliminate Cruz

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) -- Donald Trump and some mainstream Republicans are engaged in a long-distance flirtation. Both sides are coming to the realization that they'll need each other if the billionaire businessman becomes the party's presidential nominee.

The GOP establishment is no fonder of Trump than when he first roiled the campaign last summer with his controversial comments about immigrants and women. But with voting beginning in just over a week, his durability atop preference polls has pushed some donors, strategists and party elders to grudgingly accept the prospect of his winning the nomination.

"We'd better stop hoping for something else and accept the possibility that he's our nominee and be prepared to rally around him if that's the case," said Fred Malek, a top Republican presidential fundraiser....

Was Trump ever elected to office? What legislation has he participated in that helped further erode our liberties?

If you just answer a question with another question, you can have that conversation with yourself, you don’t need me. Have fun with that.

The GOPe is still holding out hope that Bush will be the nominee.

Seems to be the will of the zealot anti (insert candidate) posters here too.

Doesn’t Trump look great?

Thanks.

Bet those people he’s standing next to never imagined he was a threat to them, perhaps even a deadly threat as in the case of Hillary.

Reuters came in line with every single poll out there, that’s what happened.

Your argument holds no water.

Trump's past liberal statements/pics can't be compared to the treachery Republicans have done for over 50 years.

If you just answer a question with another question

He was STILL a private citizen then, in the political sense and not the celebratory.

Voting for Trump is a vote for the establishment, McConnell, Lindsay Graham , McCain, bob dole, Romney,..... Republicans are still hitting their heads against the wall. They never learn. Again they expect us to vote for “their” candidate who makes a lot general promises. Trump could end up being our worse nightmare and we have to go along because he's so popular. How much trash will come out of trumps closet? For some reason I think many women will come out in droves (even if Clintons gave to pay for it) that will neutralize Bill. They certainly won't leak anything until the general. Funny thing is every poll, except pro rino Fox News, trump loses and Cruz wins. If I didn't know better the establishment had this all planned out and it worked better than they imagined. And I thought all the blind hope and change followers were leftists. Maybe they are. I'm putting up my force field now so have at it.

“There you are”?

That is one persons’s opinion.

Today, Rush said: “Cruz represents the greatest threat of the Republican establishment.”

If I could call Rush and get on the air, I would quote that and ask Rush just how he factors OUT of the equation the fact that Cruz voted for the Corker bill, alongside the Republican establishment, and he helped Ryan roll out TPA and voted for it, with the Republican establishment. With that record, the establishment really doesn’t hate Cruz; they know he will play ball. It is all mis-direction.

Reagan was for TPA. What do you say to that?

“Reagan was for TPA. What do you say to that?”

He also approved of the amnesty bill in which I was against, but I still would have voted for him. Michael Reagan said he was double-crossed on that.

The current version of TPA will enable TPP. If you want to be alarmed at something, research that. It effectively ends our sovereignty.

TPA and TPP are two concepts that Obama pushes and positively drools over. Has Obama ever pushed anything that was good for the United States?

His poll numbers are in free fall by his own doing so here is no need for collusion.

“You’ve read them? Amazing.”

Just a bit of snark, I noticed. No, I have not.

However:

“The Final Leaked TPP Text Is All That We Feared

Today’s release by Wikileaks of what is believed to be the current and essentially final version of the intellectual property (IP) chapter of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) confirms our worst fears about the agreement, and dashes the few hopes that we held out that its most onerous provisions wouldn’t survive to the end of the negotiations.

Since we now have the agreed text, we’ll be including some paragraph references that you can cross-reference for yourself-but be aware that some of them contain placeholders like “X” that may change in the cleaned-up text. Also, our analysis here is limited to the copyright and Internet-related provisions of the chapter, but analyses of the impacts of other parts of the chapter have been published by Wikileaks and others.”

You can do your own research. Or, you can put your complete trust in Obama to do what is best. He has such a proven track record.

BIG CORN is some of the GOP leaders. The subsidy goes mainly to a few biggies in agribusiness. Relatively little to the family farmers whose numbers decrease every year.
