According to the newest polling date made available to us by Real Clear Politics, former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum is faring badly. Very badly. In fact, at 0.8%, Rick Santorum is polling slightly better than myself into the race for the Republican nomination, and I'm proud to say I have not spent a dime on my campaign.
So what does a hapless former state Senator with a major Google problem do when he sits currently in eleventh place and has yet to make it to the main debate stage?
Waste his money attacking the second-place candidate: Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
The Santorum campaign, or whatever is left of it, rolled out a new 60-second ad in Iowa on Monday that is set to air on local cable and digital platforms in the Hawkeye state. And what element of the Cruz campaign has Santorum chosen to attack?
The time that Cruz read Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor, of course. In 2013, Cruz read the children's book as part of his Congressional record one September night, and Santorum's new ad uses footage of the event for the new Iowa ad.

The ad opens with, "Ted Cruz is wonderful at reading children's fairytales on the Senate floor," taking square aim at the candidate who is most frequently viewed as the likeliest to dethrone the Trump Train from atop the GOP nomination race.
"Rick Santorum spent his time in the Senate a little differently," the ad continues, drawing a link towards Santorum's public service to the increased focus and dialogue on national security and the role of our military.
The ad notes that Santorum has been "a leader taking on radical Islam," but does not clarify as to how.

Yet the Clinton News Network interviewed Santorum about the ad as if it were breaking news. Sad.
Someone should tell Santorum he is polling less than 1%.
They should also remind him that he could not even win re-election
in his home state.
I used to be a fan of Rick Santorum.
Now he has changed into a bitter middle-aged man who has seen his political career disintegrate.
He is full of sour grapes.
I like Rick Santorum, but this stinks. I would still think it stunk if Santorum was in fourth place, trying to gain traction. He’s not. Too bad. He would have made an excellent HHS secretary.
Santuckabee is being paid to attack Cruz by the gOpeeE ...

Seriously, their is still a 1/2 a dozen of them that still think they have a chance and are players. What is this? Fantasy POTUS League? I said over a year ago, our Vaulted field of 16 wasn't all "that". Yes, and I don't do process, and I am ok with that, but was I the only one to see most of these folks were left over cold cuts?
Go here for my 12/1/2014 description of "our field": http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3232647/posts?page=14#14
If you have to tell us you’re relevant,
you’re not.
He’s auditioning for Secretary of Sweatervest
I think he needs filler for his next book. The dude has made a career out of being a "Presidential Candidate."
Santorum has the power to bore
Now he is adding the Power to PissOff

If you want Ted Cruz to read you one hell of a bedtime story, Ted Cruz is your guy. Rick is right.
It’s no problem. He’s representing his constituency however small it is.
Maybe he’s hoping to get a spot in Trumps administration.
It’s his ego. Just can’t let go.
Cruz doing too well against your boy?
Not surprised at Huck making an ass of himself, but Santorum?
This is unfortunate.
