Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) general chairman Ed Rendell says his party’s scariest opposition in 2016 would be a GOP presidential ticket comprised of Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).

“In terms of who we fear the most, the Democratic side, just speaking for myself, I would fear John Kasich and Marco Rubio as vice president,” Rendell told host John Catsimatidis on “The Cats Roundtable” on New York’s AM-970 on Sunday. “That would be the ticket I would fear the most.”(continued)

What he meant was, "if I were a Republican voter..."
...I would fear John Kasich and Marco Rubio as vice president...

Rendell is concerned that, should a ticket such as Kasich/Rubio emerge, Rendell would laugh himself to death.

Rowe is aware that, should a ticket such as Bush/Pataki/Christie/Kasich/Rubio emerge, Rowe could laugh himself to the bank.

I see where he is coming from. Kasich/Rubio translates to Ohio and Florida going GOP. If that happens, the GOP would be hard to beat.

An attempt at a little reverse psychology. He wanted to say Linda Graham, but that would have been too obvious.

No, the polls don't bear it out, but I can see the logic....two relatively "normal" politicos from important swing states might be their nightmare.

Off topic, but I'm also still of the opinion that running against a bombastic buffoon like Trump would be that party's wet dream.

The Republican who can generate (or benefit from) the most effective ground game of effective volunteers will win it all.

No matter how great the candidate...and the money... no Republican can win this time without volunteers making friends with their neighbors and getting them to vote their way... This is not about getting their neighbors to convert on the issues... It is about getting their vote ... the issues be damned.

Only because they HAVE to win Florida and Ohio. Democrats don’t have to win either one but we do. We are at a HORRIBLE disadvantage in the Electoral College. Democrats start off with 191 and we start off with 143. They have to win one purple state. We have to win 3 out of 4 purple states. That is why they think Kasich and Rubio would be a winning ticket. Of course most democrats fear this ticket most. Conservatives fear it too for a different reason.....lol.

You already voted for Ryan once. We all should be ashamed for that. Although he didn’t get VP, House Majority Leader is even a stronger position.

but the polls dont bear that out.

Definitely not Kasich, but Rubio is the only one beating Hillary in the General. I guess trump has a few polls that show him winning too but not as many as Rubio. Who the heck knows who is going to get the nomination. I swore that Santorum was going to get it in 2012 but that didn't happen. Nobody on this site thought that Romney would attract the voters during the primary, but that is what happens especially with a “Winner Takes All” type elections in the “blue and purple states”.
