Iowa evangelicals could play an unfamiliar role in 2016: Putting down an insurgent Republican candidacy rather than boosting one. This is a crucial demographic in the country's first nominating contest. According to the 2012 entrance polls, 57 percent of last time's caucus-goers were evangelicals or born-again Christians.
Typically, these Iowa voters have helped insurgencies. In 1988, Pat Robertson ran ahead of George H.W. Bush in all 99 counties. Pat Buchanan barely lost the state to Bob Dole in 1996, setting him up for victory in New Hampshire. In 2008 and 2012, Iowa evangelicals launched Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum from low single digits to top-tier status...

Iowa is irrelevant. A state-wide circle jerk put on for the nation every four years with little to no impact on the eventual nominee.
Trump is planning a campaign blitz between now and the Iowa caucus no one has ever seen before. He will win handily.
Megyn Kelly’s hair keeps getting shorter as she gets angrier at Trump. Trump wins Iowa, and the next day she will be bald as a cue ball.
Nah. She's probably working on getting a Trump cut.
From what I have read, only Cruz and Trump have significant ground operations in place to actually get people to caucus.
Rubio hasn’t had the money to set much of anything up and Bush has ignored the ground game in favor of just running ads.
I forgot about Carson.
I haven’t read anything about him having a ground game in any of the states and since he spends most of his money trying to raise more money I doubt there is much left over for traditional campaigning.
“. I am waiting for Trump to win Iowa, so I can watch all the incoherent babbling from all these ânews outletsâ”
LOL! As he wins primary after primary, the MSM and GOPe will get even more unhinged. This will be fun!
I watched that documentary ‘The Making if Trump ‘ - he was able to get tax exemptions from NYC, unheard of at the time. And got huge business loans when people had a hard time getting house loans. He was able to do things that were considered not doable. I think he can do the same for politics.
“I’m not saying it’s over, but the fat lady is warming up in the green room. Cruz needs a game changer, and I don’t know what that could be.”
I like your phrasing!
Cruz isn’t helping himself by being soft on the illegals already here.
You’re probably right. He also owns the “Weekly Standard “. Have they been after Trump too?
I just sent Cruz another small donation and an email that axed him to get tougher on the ILLEGAL, WELFARE CHEATS, the anchor babies and every other law break'n sonofabitch that is living in my country, on my tax dollars.
That's exactly how I phrased it, I hope they won't stop sending me requests for my money. S/OFF
“He also owns the âWeekly Standard â. Have they been after Trump too?”
****
Yes. Definitely not pro-Trump.
Thanks for trying. I’m sure you won’t be taken off their mailing list!
sorry didn’t notice the sarcasm tag ;)
